"Idiot! Stop making excuses. No, your steeling wheel won't fall off whilst driving and no, you can't reschedule an interview. Especially when your applying for the job." My roommate all but barked at me as she guided me out the house.

It's my first graduate job interview and to say I'm feeling nervous is an understatement. I took 35 minutes eating a bowl of cereal this morning because half way through, my nerves took over me so I forgot how to chew. It's obvious to say I'm scared.

"Please go now. I haven't got time to hear your excuses, hearing you complain about how you can't go because of your fetish for sofas is annoying and disturbing." My roommate Savannah said referring to my one of many 'on the spot reasons why it's not safe for me to go to my interview'.

"Well not all people are as fortunate as you to be able to enjoy things normally." I retorted.

"Just go. I'm sure there's sofas in your interview room." She replied, pushing me into my car.

Well I guess this is happening.

I started my engine, ready to embrace my journey into central London. After a quick stop at Starbucks, I ordered myself a caramel iced frappe before actually deciding to make my way to the interview.

Thankfully, London traffic saved me by stalling my way through the city so I could be as late as possible. At least I have something to blame - now I don't have to lie about having irritable bowel syndrome. Yes; after research beforehand, I found out it's as painful and disgusting as it sounds - so I'v decided to use that as an excuse for purposely being late.

Precisely 52 minutes later, I arrived at my dreaded destination. 'Minerva cooperations' the skyscraper read. I turned my phone on, making the screen illuminate in the small, dark car. 12:41pm it read. I contemplated showing up fashionably late but decided against it when I remembered this isn't a family gathering.

"Well, here goes everything." I 'pepped talked' myself before taking unusually long strides into the reception room. The walk looked more professional in my head.

"Hello?" I said to the woman at the reception desk.
"Good morning Ma'am"
"I'm here for an interview with Mr Hale." I said to her
"Miss Davies? Your interviews been postponed. don't worry though, it's only 10 minutes. Just take a seat," The receptionist whose name was Mellisa said.

I suddenly envied her. How does she expect me to sit waiting for 10 minutes in the nervous wreck I'm in right now!

I slowly took a seat in one of the posh chairs opposite the desks. I glared at Mellisa but was certain it just looked like I was flinching. My face rarely creases enough for it to look angry when I try glaring.

I was interviewing for a job on Human Resources in Minerva Cooperations. It's what I got a degree in but initially I wanted to be the person that says 'your fired'. This is the same thing though. I think. You just have to get promoted a lot of times to be able to be in a position to say the 2 words I'v been practising my whole life.

I looked down at my way to formal pant suit, checking in case I'd dropped any food that wasn't mine. That would look extremely unprofessional.

"Kylie Davies. Mr Hale  is ready to see you now." Mellisa shouted. I immediately got up and sent one last glare to the receptionist before wiping my sweaty palms on my blazer and walking in a direction I wasn't familiar with.

"This way miss," A blonde called, stopping me from walking down to what looks like the cleaning storage room.

"You forgot your bag," she called again. I mentally freaked out as I realised how many mistakes I had made in the space of 3 minutes.

She lead me to the top floor of the building and directed me in front of a large door. I looked at her with a confused face. Is my future manager a door?

"Open it, miss." She eventually said. Oh yeah, that's what doors are for aren't they.

I opened the doors and was met with a wide empty space, occupied within a single desk and file cabinet. What a waste of space.

"Miss Banks." The CEO said as soon as I'd entered.

"Do I know you?"
