"Do I know you?" I asked the handsome young man that I assumed was the CEO.
He gave me a look of shock,
"Not personally." He replied, taking a glance at my face.
"Let me take this," he spoke after a few seconds, pulling the damp jacket from my grasp before I could object. After placing my jacket on the lonely plant stand in the corner, the entrepreneur returned to his seat and motioned for me to sit. I placed my notes on my lap in front of me, and when I looked up, Mr. Hale was sat on the desk in front of me, rather than his seat on the other side. I hadn't expected the man to be in such a close proximity, so I instinctively pulled my chair back slightly.
Noticing my nervousness, he broke the uncomfortable silence. "Now If you wouldn't mind, I'd like to start the interview. I only have around 15 minutes." He said, glancing down at his Rolex.
Posh people and there inability to look at their digital clock on their phones.
"You can take a seat" he said gesturing to the 'alluring' sofa in front of his desk. Gladly.
"So, what experience have you had with finance and the economy?" He started, eyeing my appearance once he could get a better look.
"Well - during my time in university I was offered work experience in WorldPay, if that counts?" I answered nervously under his stare.
I wanted to look up and see what emotion he was holding and if he hated me yet or not but decided against it. For all I know It might be unacceptable in this company to stare at the CEO.
He seemed to be eyeing a piece of paper which I realised was my detailed CV.
"Your one of four people I have chosen for this interview. Tell me, what can you bring as the finance manager that the other four can not?" He challenged, his penetrating stare still targeting me.
"Well, I'm a great team-"
"Other than that, I can already see how much of a great peer you are from your job application, Kylie Banks."
My name graciously rolled of his tongue. I never really obsessed over it or hated it but the way he said it made it seem a million times nicer.
I 'accidentally' looked up to see his soft brown eyes for a millisecond before he raised his brows. Yeah I'm right, it's forbidden to glance at your boss in this company.
"Okay well, I'm a very punctual person whose always on time. Because of this efficiency is one of the attributes that make me. I'm also great at resolving conflict, I can bring the financial team closer together. This will result in work being completed with more effort as gradually, with all due respect, my peers will actually be excited to come to work." Mic dropped no actually speakers dropped.
"Well, I'll let you know if you really dropped your speakers in the next few days." He said with a small smile, referring to my stupid statement that didn't stay in my mouth.
"Expect a call from me, can you see yourself out? Or have you forgotten how doors work again."
For fucks sake.

"Bitch how was it!" Savannah screamed from a metre away.
"It was good," I screamed back making sure to do it exceptionally loud and centimetres away from her ear.
"I embarrassed myself a lot though," I complained. Savannah was the worst person to complain to but I like to complain so I complained to the best thing that listens, oxygen.
"I forgot how to use a door, mistaken a storage room for the office,"
"Stop stop your hurting my ears. Your always doing stuff wrong, if that company hires you, they're hiring your clumsiness and naive ness as well. Now stop complaining your stressing me out."
"Because of that I'm not making you a sandwich,"
"It's okay, your sandwich tastes like soap even though the only ingredients are cheese, butter and sauce.
"That's the mayonnaise and cheese mixing," I argued back slightly offended. I'll admit I'm not a great chef but I doubt it tastes like soap of all things.
"Honey, don't poison yourself with your homemade food and order takeaway with me." She said with a sweet sarcastic voice.
Instead I decided to make my way to the kitchen and boil some pasta.
"And don't even think about making pasta, that tastes like cereal."
