Chapter 33

"Are you sure? We have not even taken a DNA test. The older man might me right. We should check before you jump to conclusions. I-"

"He has poisoned your mind too!" Zavion shouted loudly which made me jump in fright. I backed away slowly, afraid that he might lash out. I watched as Zavion rushed around the room, his footsteps were hard and heavy against the freshly polished floor.

"He hasn't Zavion. I am just saying what I think is-" I tried to say but was interrupted by Zavion again.

"Why do you think your fingernails turned green? You drank a liquid that had a truth spell on it." my eyes at the new piece of information I learned.

"So my dad is the older man?"

"Yes, he is." Both of us didn't say another word as we were too consumed in our own thoughts. I fiddled with my fingers as all type of emotions run through me. An excitement ran through me that I found my blood-related family but I also felt nervous because of the way my father was treating me. I had never expected to find my family, but I did. Not once but twice. One of them had also lied was this a lie too?

"You must have a lot of questions," Zavion said, his voice much quieter than before.

"Yes, I do have a lot of questions. Tell me is Romulus, my brother?" I asked suddenly. Even though I was tired, my mind cannot stop firing questions one after the other. "What happened to my mom? Why is our dad so sad? What happened to me? Did you give me up?"

I breathed in deeply. Trying to replace the oxygen I just used by asking all those questions. I watched Zavion who has stopped walking and is now staring at the wall. The atmosphere in the room was tense and uncomfortable. I needed answers but nobody was giving them to me. If I was the lost princess then why was nobody enjoying the fact that I was found? Was I that unwanted?

"To answer all your questions we should go to dad's office. There together as a whole family we will discuss and answer all your questions. Come on."

I followed Zavion as he opens the door. As I left the room I looked around until I saw Ace leaning on the glass. Ace pulled away from the glass that had been smudged from him leaning onto it. He walked towards us quick strides.

"Let's go."

"How do you where we are going?" I inquired Ace, who was staring at me with his eyes. I felt him pull my hand into his, his fingers laced through mine until our hold is firm. Warmth filled my body from the touch.

"I could hear your conversation from the hallway. You weren't very quiet." I narrowed my eyes at Ace who had a smirk on his face.

"So technically speaking you were eavesdropping," I said to Ace. I raised my left eyebrow towards Ace questionably.

"Technically speaking I was just making sure you were alright," Ace murmured over my ear. I felt his breath fan the side of my face. I took a sharp breath in. My heartbeat quickened from the close approximately.

"Please stop this right now. You both have not been together for more than one day and you are already making me feel sick," Zavion said rudely. I turned my head away from Ace's head that was mere inches apart from mine. I stared at Zavion in shock of his statement.

"Zavion." Ace growled at his warning, I felt the hold of our hands tighten from his sudden anger.

"Stop this both of you. How far away is the office?" I asked with frustration. I ran my free hand over my face, tired of all the arguments that have occurred recently.

"Far, let me carry you. You look tired," Ace said looking at me with concern. He untangled his fingers from mine and stops walking. With one hand on my back and the other over the back of my knee, he gently picked me up. I closed my eyes and put my head on Ace's chest. I slowly fell asleep to Ace's rapid heartbeat.
