#underpressure

I'm woken up by Rowan's alarm, I gently shake her so she can wake up and turn the stupid alarm off, when she doesn't wake up I kick off of the bed, laying back down and pulling the covers over myself.

She groans, "What the hell Armani? Did you- did you just kick me off of my bed?" She groggily asks and the blaring noise finally stops

"Mhm." I hum.

"You kicked me off of my bed." She clarifies.

"Yeah, you wouldn't wake up." I state.

"Armani! Out of bed now or you'll be late for the assembly." My mom yells from somewhere in the house.

I sigh, throwing the covers off of me, groaning as I sit up, "Can I ask a favor?"

Rowan nods, "Yeah, sure."

"Can you do my hair? I would but I get tired fast now and if I hold my arms up too long my back starts hurting." I tell her.

"Sure." She pulls out the chair from her desk, "Come, sit." She pats the seat, I get off the bed and walk over to her before sitting down in the chair.

After a while she's done, "There."

"Thanks, do you need help?"

She shakes her head, "Nope."

I walk out of the room, leaving her to get ready and go to the kitchen where I see my mom and Mark all lovey and gross, I clear my throat.

"Hey, your hair looks good. Did you do it on your own because you were there when Jerry said you shouldn't strain your-" I cut my mom off.

"I know, mom. I was there and I didn't do this," I point to my hair, "Rowan did. Since you basically packed most my clothes and brought them here without telling me, do you happen to know where my uniform is?" She nods and hands me dry cleaning, "You had it dry cleaned."

She nods, "I wanted everything to be perfect."

"Mom, it's just an assembly, not a competition" I say as I walk away to go change.

After changing and getting my bag ready, I walk into the kitchen and see mom made breakfast, I sit down next to Rowan.

"What do you want for breakfast?" Mom asks.

"I'll pass on breakfast, just waiting for Ro to finish eating." I say and she stuffs another waffle into her mouth.

Mom sighs, "I'm going to make you skip that assembly if you don't eat breakfast Mani."

I lean back into the chair, crossing my arms over my chest, "Find by me... means I won't die today." I mutter the last part to myself but it must've not been as quiet as I thought because Rowan chokes on her food and kicks my shin, "Ow, that hurt."

"What do you mean you're going to die?" Mark asked.

"I didn't mean it like that, I meant that I'll most likely die from pain 'cause Niki is such a bitch and think she's the captain and orders everyone around."

Rowan stands up, picking up her plate and placing it in the sink, "Thank you for breakfast." She tells my mom and put her backpack on.

I stand up and out my backpack on, "Mom, I'll just grab something in the way to school. Bye love you." I say and start making my way to the door.

"Ok, look out for each other." I hear my mom yell as we walk out of the house and make our way to school.

We get to school and see a bunch of people cheering and rushing into the auditorium, we find Hailey and make our way inside but we stop when she gets a notification.
