Like two planets,
Orbiting a strange sun.
We come close and cycle away,
Heading opposite directions,
Meeting only at morning,
And at night.
A brief exchange that must last till the next.
When the time has passed and we are pulled apart,
The Loneliness sets in.
The Emptiness.
The Dark.
Alone in a crowd,
Other celestial bodies with concerns of their own.
And nothing can quite soothe,
The ache of missing part of your soul.
Until you find it again.
Reconnect.
Whole again.
Entwined hands and deep breaths,
The brief eclipse of heaven.
A slice of heaven to feed you for the day.
Like two planets,
Orbiting a sun.
One day,
Our orbits will shift.
We'll crash in the best possible way,
Now one bright supernova,
Burning forever.
But until that day,
We carry on with our solitary treks,
Coming close and cycling away.
