are you ready to take risks?

I had taken the rigorous exams that lasted three days straight. I was emotionally and mentally drained I was not ecstatic about taking the practical exam today. I slam my head into the desk, secretly hoping it would knock me out and I'd be excused today. I glanced at my classmates who seemed to be as perky as ever. I didn't understand how one person could still have high spirits after three painstaking exams. I burrowed my head into my arms, trying to disappear as Aizawa walked in to give instructions. I groaned as he began to talk and apparently what he said was groan-worthy for the rest of the class as well.

I walked into the dressing rooms last. The other girls were almost done getting ready. My costume was fairly simple. It didn't stray too far from my original costume as a vigilante but it was professionally made this time. I slipped the suit on, finding the material to be quite comfortable. My costume resembled a bit like Mom's. The design pattern resembled Mom's aesthetic a lot. I had added my own features of course, I didn't want to be a carbon copy. I had a hood attached in the back and unlike Mom's sheer v-neck upper piece and high cut suit, i was a bit more modest. The suit was, well, skin tight to say the least. The outfit didn't adorn sleeves so I could use my quirk properly. It was a turtleneck that covered my mouth and nose, for, well, obvious reasons. I let out a sigh, slipping Mom's wedding ring off my finer.

"You're engaged [L/N]?" Uraraka asked.

The corner of my mouth twitched as I spoke, "no. I'm not. This was my mother's wedding ring." I kissed the ring and placed it inside my locker, locking it right.

"O-Oh." Uraraka got the gist of it my eyes flickered towards her and her costume.

"Nice costume [L/N]," Ashido commented.

"It reminds me of Dreameater's costume!" Hagakure added. I cringed at my Mom's hero name. I was still not over her death I guess.

"Yeah," I began, "Dreameater was one of my favorite pro-heroes. Well, she still is."

"I know right!" Jiro said, "she was fuckin' badass!"

"She was..." I said with a sad smile. I excused myself, heading over to the exam sight a bit earlier than the rest of the class. The class came in a few seconds earlier and the doors swung open to the outdoor training facility.

I glanced at All Might, the number one pro-hero. I glanced away with conflicted feelings since my mom and All Might were pretty close. "Why are there so many pro-heroes here?" Jiro commented. The rules were explained by Principal Nezu himself. The rules were pretty simple but it all came down to who your partner was and how lucky you got with the pro-hero you'd be fighting. The teams went as followed.

Bakugo and Midoriya against All Might, which I deeply felt sorry for. Yaoyorozu and Todoroki which felt like a powerhouse and they would definitely win. Kaminari and Ashido against the man, the myth, the legend, Principal Nezu. Aoyama and Uraraka against Thirteen. I was ready to be bored by their match. Koda and Jiro versus Present Mic, all of them had voice and sound related quirks so I wondered how that would go. Tokoyami and Asui against Extoplasm seemed like a rough match as Tokoyami and Asui's quirks didn't seem to pair well. Shoji and Hagakure against Snipe, Kirishima and Sato Rikido against Cementoss which sounds like an easy victory but some people are just stupid. Iida and Ojiro against Power Loader.

I was paired with Mr. Tape Man, Sero Hanata. I saw the fear in the boy's eyes when he heard my name being called. I scoffed, I wasn't that intimidating. The pro-hero we'd be up against was Midnight. I stumbled backwards, I wouldn't be able to take her on. I wouldn't be able to beat this witch. Her quirk and my quirk were too similar. Midnight was also my mother's cousin. I bit my lip, having to accept defeat. A horny simp and vigilante wouldn't be enough to defeat Midnight. The matches had begun and I decided it would be a good idea to have a strategy. "Hi. I'm [L/N]," I said, my eyes flickering towards his helmet.

"Ummm...yeah-I know who you are."

"Why are you so scared of me?" I asked, raising a brow.

"There's...there's rumors that you're supposed to be in jail..."

I snorted, rolling my eyes, "do you really believe everything you hear?"

"I—"

"Okay, I need to pass this because of Aizawa's stupid logic." I said, "so are you going to help or not?" I furrowed my brows together, glaring at the nervously sweating Tape Man.

I had walked onto the battlefield. Midnight was on the other side of this field. My palms were sweaty. I rubbed them together as my quirk wouldn't work if my body was moisturized. I bit my lip nervously, glancing at Sero, who could barely even keep eye contact with me. I heard the bell ring so the chase has begun.

Midnight had chased us around for about half an hour before she managed to grab a hold of Sero. I clicked my tongue, a bit pissed that I have to do all of this by myself and Sero still gets to pass. I have to confront her at some point since we both had to cross the finish line. I spun around instead of cowering. That wouldn't do me any good. I attach the gas mask onto my face, holding it in place. I heard it click so it was secure. I glared at her as she spoke, "you look just like Izanami."

"...don't you dare say her name." I spat.

"...you even have her fiery spirit...and Yuudai's attitude." She said Dad's name boredly as she caressed Sero in her lap. Midnight got up, filling the terrain with her mist as she ripped a part of her costume off. I instinctively release my lucid dream mist but her's overpowered mine.

It was a battle of gas and mist. I could barely even get close to that woman. I grit my teeth, wondering what I should do. What would Mom do in this situation? I shook my head. I have my own battle style. It's carried me this far and has gotten praise time and time again. I run into Midnight's mist, the gas mask filtering her mist so I wouldn't accidentally inhale it. I hide in her mist, acting as if I was wobbly and shaky, falling into her submission. I walked towards her figure, Sero's head resting on her titties. I rushed her, using my feet to propel myself towards her face. I release the lucid dream mist in her face however Midnight used Sero as a shield. I blinked in surprise, tumbling into the dirt.

Midnight glanced at me from above, smiling at me with dark intent. I growled, digging my nails into the dirt. "Don't you dare fucking pity me, you cheating bitch."

"[Y/N]."

I flinched at her using my first name.

"You're not trying at all."

"HUH? WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN YOU LYING WHORE?!" I spat.

She didn't seem phased at all, "act like you're on the battlefield against a villain. Just like a few days ago."

"..."

"Are you ready to take risks, [Y/N]? Make sacrifices and push yourself to the limit?" Midnight asked, stepping closer.

"I was born ready."
