After getting my schedule a student helped me around the school. It was a nice school and I was able to get to my classes on time. It was the end of the day and I was getting my stuff out of my locker when it was suddenly slammed shut. Stunned I look to see who shut it. It was a male with orange-ish hair glaring at me. "Excuse you but that was rude." I say glaring back at him. After exchanging a few words he leaves me alone. I continue to glare at him even when he walks away. I don't have the time for a simple-minded boy to do whatever he wants. I thought as I reopen my locker and get the remainder of my things needed and shut it again. Walking through the door I see a short boy looking at Shift. I walk quickly down the steps knowing her impatience from this morning. "Excuse me." I politely say to the boy. He looks at me startled at first then backs up muttering a 'sorry'. I get in after putting my stuff in the back seat and tell my mom I'm gonna drive around town with my friend. "Echo, did you see those two cars and that motorcycle?" Shift asks out of the blue. "Yeah?" I say looking at the steering wheel quizzically. "My radar was going off indicating that they are also autobots." She says. A look of shock comes over me "There are more of you?" I ask gaining a slight smile. "Yep. There was a whole planet of my kind." She said I felt bad when she said 'was'. I was going to ask but I decided not in case I reminded her of something she would rather forget. The ride was quiet. Not the awkward silence but a comfortable silence. I was able to get some work done while heading to the place Shift wished to go. "Okay kid, we're here." She said looking up I see a cavern that is lit up by a faint blue glow, of you seen it you would think that there are fireflies in there. Walking in after Shift I notice just how big it is. "Whoa" She chuckled as I stair star-struck. This place is amazing! After I finished my homework Shift told me about her home planet and how she wishes she could go back. I then told her about my dad and how we moved. She seemed saddened by this, but for some reason I trusted her with the information of my dad. But then again she is trusting me with her life.
We left for town again but then we noticed that there was a race about to happen. "Wanna join and see if we can win?" Shift asks, I shake my head no. "My anxiety goes up when I'm in a really fast moving vehicle." I say. "Then no race." She said. She pulled up to my house shortly after and I got out. "Bye Shift, and thanks for giving me a ride to school and showing me that cave." I said after closing the door "any time, kid" She said before driving off.
