Learning from the best

The following day I was waiting for Shift to show up so we could go to the base. Miko is planning on everyone staying the night. I asked my mom and she said it was okay, only thing is if anything happened I need to tell her. But I can't tell her about the autobots. When Shift gets here I walk out saying goodbye to my mom. When arriving Ratchet already looked like he was going insane. I don't blame him. I have a few classes with Miko and she can really give me a headache. "At least it's only for one night." I state smiling slightly and the grumpy medic. He didn't look amused. "I have a lot to do so I can't deal with any distractions." He says turning back to the monitor. "Look on the bright side. Miko has detention, Jack has to work, and Raf's mom needs him for something and I'm not really that loud." I say trying to lighten his mood. He considers it with a hum, I smile and go to the couch. When there I pull out my "Works of Edgar Allen Poe" book and start reading, making the most of this quiet Friday afternoon before it is demolished by Miko's loud voice and Jack telling her to keep her voice down.
I get to one of the creepier poems by Poe when Bulkhead suddenly accidentally breaks something making me squeak and drop my book. "Bulkhead! I needed that!" Ratchet yelled at the wrecker. "You okay?" Smokescreen asks me. "Yeah, I just got to a creepy part of a poem when that happened." I explained. Looking over I see Ratchet picking up pieces of a broken machine. Oh boy. I hope when I get comfortable with them after I tell them I don't accidentally bread something of Ratchet's.. I think. After things settle down Bulk leaves to the school to pick up Miko, Arcee goes to Jack's work to pick him up and Bee leaves to Raf's house to get him. By then I was watching closely at what Ratchet was rebuilding. I was astonished, human doctors only know how to make people better and don't know a thing about machinery or welding. 
When Miko got here I knew the peace was over and I put my book back in my bag. "This is going to be awesome!" Miko shouts, I smile as she tries to get Jack, Raf and I pumped for tonight's plans.
It was sometime around 7:30 when Miko passed out. Raf was on his laptop and Jack was talking with Smokescreen. It was peaceful. I walk over to where Ratchet is. "That didn't take long." I said amused looking at Miko's sleeping form. "That I'm surprised." Ratchet said looking at the highly energetic girl who was sprawled out on a blanket. Looking back at the screen I see he was.. programming? "Hey Ratchet? May I ask what your doing?" I asked interested. He gives me a look then states: "I am updating the main control panel. Now if you don't mind I would like to get back to work." He said typing away. I nod and walk off.
