Chp 2

The next day you woke up to a call. You looked at where it was coming from.

Scranton PA

You eyes widened you cleared your throat and you answered it.

"Hello?"

"Hi may I speak to Miss Johnson?"

"This is she"

"Hello Ashley this is Michael Scott from Dunder Mifflin?"

"oh hello mister Scott"

"we got your application and thought you would be a great addition to the dunder mifflin team if your still interested in the position"

"oh yes sir I am"

"I see that you live in California how quickly can you get out here to Scranton for a quick interview and background check?"

"I can leave tonight"

"perfect we can meet tomorrow morning say around 10?"

"sounds great!"

"alright see you then!"

"bye"

you hung up and you screamed with excitement into your pillow. 

Katie came in

"you okay?" she said laughing a little.

"yes! I got a call from the paper company and it sounds like I have the job! All they want is a small interview and background check!"

"oh my gosh that's great! When do you leave?"

"well I got a last minute plane ticket for tonight"

"girl you better get packing!"

you packed all the normal necessities for a vacation and knew if you moved there you could move all your stuff to an apartment. You made sure to pack nice outfits for the interview and if you started working. 

**The next day**

you woke up in your hotel room and got dressed for your interview. You were so nervous but excited. You took a cab and once you got the building you took a deep breath and walked inside. You found the suite and saw a girl with long curly hair working the front desk.

"Hi I'm Ashley Johnson I'm here for an interview with Michael Scott"

"oh hi yes just walk right into his office right there on your left"

"thank you" you said with a smile.

you walked in.

"ayy Ashley! Are new member!"

"Hello Mister Scott" you said extending your hand

he shook it and motioned you to sit down. 

he asked you all the normal business questions.

"so why do you want to be a receptionsit here?" he asked.

"well I'm good with people and wanted to work in a more office setting"

total lie but it worked.

"that's awesome because our receptionist Pam is moving to sales"

"oh okay" you said with a smile.

"you got the job!" he said

you both walked out and he made an announcement.

"everyone this is Ashley are new receptionist!" 

"Hi everyone" you said shyly.

Just then you looked to your left and saw a tall handsome guy walk out of the door in the back. He was looking down at his coffee but when he looked up you two locked eyes. 

"Jim?!" you said excitedly.

"Ashley?!" he said coming towards you.

"oh my gosh!" you said.

you two hugged tightly.

"am I missing something here?" Michael Asked. 

"its probably another one of Jim's famous girlfriends" said a dorky looking guy with glasses.

"this is Ashley she was my girlfriend back when I was 17."

"oh why did you guys break up?" asked a chubby guy in the back.

"I moved to Scranton because my mom had a job offer"

"but what are you doing here?!" he asked.

"I moved here from L.A. I wanted a more job like setting

"that's awesome! Well I work in sales so if you want and if its okay I can show you around"

Michael looked a little disappointed.

"but Jim she's the only one attractive here now" he said looking over at Pam.

She had a what? look on her face. 

"Michael I got this" said Jim

"alright"

"okay so here's my desk and this is where all the sales people are. This is Dwight"

"Hello Ashley I'm Dwight Shrute assistant regional manager" he said extending his hand.

"Uh assistant TO The regional manager Dwight" Michael said cutting in. 

"nice to meet you" I said with a smile shaking it.

Jim continued to show you around and when he was done you two went in the break room and sat down.

"I still can't believe your here!" he said.

"I know crazy right?" I said laughing a little.

"so are you married now? or have any kids?" he asked

"nope still single, you?" I asked.

"I'm single at the moment"

"oh okay" 

you two continued to talk until you went over to the front desk where Pam would be training you. You trained with her the rest of the day until 5'o clock came around. You grabbed your stuff and was heading towards the door when Jim caught up to you.

"hey it was really nice seeing you today. I'm glad your a part of our team now" Jim said with a smile.

"thanks me too."

"well if you need anything here is my number"

"thanks Jim"

"we can walk out together if you want?" he asked

"yeah sure thanks."

not much was said from the building to the car but just being in his presence made you feel happy. Hopefully this was the start of a new chapter in your life.
