Chp 4

Ashley POV:
I was so excited to go to work to see Jim but when I got there things were different. I saw Jim at his desk with a new girl. I was a bit confused until he came up to my desk. 

"hey Ash whats going on"

"not much who's that?"

"oh that's Cathy the new girl in sales. I'm training her for today"

"oh okay"

"well got to get back to work see you later"

"okay"

I know we aren't dating but I couldn't help but feel a bit jealous. As the day went on I could see Jim smiling and laughing while looking at her. She was way prettier than me and I hated her for that. I couldn't see her face only the back of her head but I knew she must've been flirting with him. I didn't even know her and I already hated her guts. But maybe Jim lost his feelings for me a very long time ago and just sees me as a friend now. I tried going back to my own work but it was so difficult whenever I heard her stupid laugh or even saw him smile. I decided to go to the break room to get away from it. 

I got myself a soda and sat down at the break table when Cathy came in shortly after me. 

"hey your Ashley right?"

"yeah and your Cathy correct?"

"yeah I was going to ask you if you knew anything about Jim"

"what do you mean?"

"well he told me that you guys use to date when you were younger and how you've known each other for a long time. Do you know if he's single?"

I practically spit out my soda at this point. I didn't know if I should lie to her face or tell the truth.

"I don't know we don't really talk about that kinda stuff so I'm not much help there"

"you two are good friends and you don't know if he's dating anyone?" she asked sounding suspicious. 

"look you asked a question I told you an answer" I said boldly while looking her in the face. 

she rolled her eyes and went back to her desk. I put my head down on the table in frustration Andy walked in and must've just seen what happened. 

"you alright there?" he asked

"I'm fine" I said putting my head up taking  a deep breath. 

"well you don't look it after what just happened" he said sitting down next to me. 

"its just Cathy she's being a bitch towards me"

"does this have anything to do with you still having feelings for the tuna?"

I looked at him

"don't look at me like that we both know why you never went out with me was because of him"

"Andy I didn't go out with you because I didn't feel the same way you did about me" I said in a irritated tone. 

"alright ouch burn"

"whatever I'm going back to my desk"

As the day ended I tried to make it out there before Jim could catch me but I failed. 

"hey you alright? I haven't seen much of you today"

"yeah Jim I'm fine"

"really? because you don't seem like it"

"look Jim I gotta go I'll see you tomorrow"

Jim POV:

I was so confused. I know I didn't talk to her much but what did I do to make her that mad?

"Hey tuna"

"hey Andy do you know whats up with Ashley?"

he laughed

"yeah she has a case of the jellies"

"from who?"

"from Cathy bro"

"why?"

"tuna come on. It's obvious she still has feelings for you"

"Ashley? No she's definitely moved on"

"check again tuna"

Andy walked away and left me thinking about it. Does she really still have feelings for me? Cathy came up which interrupted my thoughts.

"hey Jim thanks for training me today hopefully I can be as good at sales as you are"

"yeah I'm sure you'll be"

I started walking to try to get her to walk away

"do you want to go grab something to eat?"

"you know I need to get home thanks though"

Cathy POV:

everything today went well with Jim and I until work was over. I knew Ashley had something to do with it and she isn't going to get away with it. Jim Halpert will be mine.
