chapter forty.

Emma, harry and ron followed behind hermione, who had been waving her arms around, a dorky and loopy smile on her lips as she walked.
“ did you hear what she said back at the pub about me and her snogging?” ron asked, “ as if.”
Emma smiled when hermione drapes her arms, wrapping them around the boys, as they continued to walk. A high pitched scream is heard, the quartet looking ahead, when they saw a girl;katie bell in the snow.
“ i warned her!” called leanne, “ i warned her not to touch it!”
Katie bell’s body was moved from side to side, a powerful scream echoes in the wind, before she falls onto the snow ground unconscious.
“ don’t get any closer!” called hagrid as he came behind the quartet, “ get back all of you.”

Emma and harry saw what katie had dropped, harry going over to pick it up, as hagrid turns.
“ do not touch that,” he warns harry, “ except for the wrappings.”
“ do you understand?”
The twins nod to him as harry kneels down, placing the wrappings over, handing the material to emma as they followed hagrid.
“ you’re sure katie did not have this in her possession when she entered the three broomsticks?” mcgonagall asked leanne.
“ it’s like i said,” said leanne, “ she left to go use the loo and when she came back she had the package.”
“ she said it was important that she delivered it,” she explains.

“ did she say to whom?” asked mcgonagall.
“ to professor dumbledore,” said leanne.
“ very well thank you leanne,” said mcgonagall, “ you may go.”
Leanne nods her head to mcgonagall, as she turns to the quartet, a frown on her face.
“ why is it...when something happens it is always you four?” she asked with a groan.
“ believe me professor,” said ron, “ i’ve been asking myself the same question for six years.”
“ oh severus,” mcgonagall sighs when the four saw the head of slytherin.

Using his wand he lifts the necklace into the air, emma had a strange, chilling feeling when looking at the necklace.
“ what do you think?” mcgonagall asked snape.
“ i think miss bell is lucky to be alive,” said snape.
“ she was cursed wasn’t she?” asked harry, “ i’ve known katie at the quidditch pitch, she wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
“ if she was delivering that to professor dumbledore,” he adds, “ she wasn’t doing it knowingly.”
“ yes she was cursed,” said mcgonagall.
“ it was malfoy,” said harry.

“ harry..” emma hissed when looking at her brother.
“ that is a serious accusation mr. potter,” said mcgonagall.
“ indeed,” snape agrees as he turns to harry, “ your evidence?”
“ i just know,” said harry.
“ you just know,” snape repeats, “ once again you astonish me with your gift potter...gifts only mortals can dream of possessing... how proud it must be to be the chosen one.”
“ i suggest you go back to your dormitories,” said mcgonagall, “ all of you.”
The quartet did as they had been told, leaving the room, as they headed to their dorm.

Emma sat on her bed, ruth laying in his dog form, his head rested on her lap. Her hand rested on his back, as she was thinking to herself, recollecting what had happened not too long ago.
“ you’re thinking about the accident aren’t you?” ruth asked when looking at emma.
“ something about that necklace was strange,” she sighed, “ it had a dark presence.”
“ you alright emma?” asked hermione.
“ fine,” she assures.
“ i wanted to ask you,” hermione sat beside emma, “ what did you smell from the amortentia?”
“ i’d rather not talk about it,” emma whispered.
