The next few days hermione had kept her distance from ron, emma having been worried for the brunette, as she seemed to be more emotional since what happened that day. Emma had asked seamus to accompany her to the christmas party, as friends, she had pointed out and the boy was too happy to agree. She walked along with seamus to the party, which had been packed, emma catching notice that harry invited luna. Her eyes burned from the flash of the camera, standing on slughorn's right side,as their photo was taken. Emma cringed when catching sight of mclaggen, as he had tried to wrap his arm around hermione, as he seemed to be leaning in to kiss her. She had then realized that they were under the mistletoe, emma feeling bad for hermione, as the brunette swiftly runs off.
' he's never going to take a hint,' ruth groaned from within emma's shadow.

" no kidding," emma sighed.
" enjoying the party?" emma looked over at ginny.
" yeah," she nods with a smile, " though a bit over crowded."
She saw a small shine in ginny's eyes, when the girl had been looking over, emma turning looking at luna.
" she said harry invited her," ginny whispers, " as friends."
" that's what i did for seamus," emma smiled, " go talk to her."
" i shouldn't," ginny blushed as she looked at emma, " she's too busy having fun."

" go," emma gave her a light shove and the girl complied.
The sight of a familiar black cloak catches her attention, emma looking forward, as snape had walked passed.
' old books,' she thought, ' potions ingredients.'
Her cheeks gave a pink flush in realizion, her eyes looking down at the floor, as she gave a soft frustrated groan.
" get your hands off of me you filthy squib!"
emma looked forward when filch came in, holding the scruff, of a struggling draco malfoy.
" professor slughorn sir," said filch, " i've just discovered this boy lurking in an upstairs corridor."

" he claims to be invited to your party."
" okay! Okay i was gate crashing!" said malfoy, " happy?"
" i'll escort him out," said snape walking towards draco.
" certainly professor," said malfoy.
" alright everyone carry on!" called slughorn when the two walked out, " carry on!"
" emma," she looked over at harry.
They walked out of the party slowly, following after the two, as they had been hidden.

" i swore i would protect you," snape hissed, " i made the unbreakable vow."
" i don't need your protection! I was chosen for this," said malfoy, " out of all others me, i won't fail him."
" i know draco."
" unbreakable vow?" emma asked when looking at her brother.
" you're sure he said unbreakable vow?" hermione asked, walking down the halls of the train.
" yes," emma sighed, " for the millionth time."
" hermione.." emma stopped her.

Lavender brown had passed by them, a happy go lucky look on her face, as she had been smiling. They walked towards harry and ron's compartment, hermione stopping when she saw a writing, having found out what lavender had been doing. She looked at harry and ron, a frown on her face as she looked at ron, walking down the halls with a huff. Emma looked at harry, who gestured his head in hermione's direction, nodding as she follows after the brunette.
" voldemort has chosen draco malfoy for a mission?" said lupin.
They had been at the weasleys for christmas break, few members of the order having been there, as the twins sat with them.
" you're sure about this?" asked sirius.

" yes i know it sounds mad," said harry.
" has it occured to you harry," said lupin, " that snape was pretending to offer draco help so he could find out what he was up to."
" that's not what it sounded like," emma whispers.
" perhaps harry is right remus," said tonks, " to make an unbreakable vow.."
" it all comes down whether or not you trust dumbledore's judgement," said lupin, " dumbledore trusts snape therefore i do."
" dumbledore could make mistakes.."
" you're blinded by hatred," lupin states as he looks at harry.
