Chapter nine:

4 months later

St.Louis, Missouri

"Yo Evonne" I say

"Yeah"

"What time is this funeral and who is it"

"It's at 3:00 and it's your uncle drew funeral"

"I haven't been living with you long enough to call him my uncle" I say rolling my eyes

"Huh we are way closer then you think... get dressed so we not late"

After she said that she walked out my room and closed the door. As I was getting dressed I couldn't stop but, to think why she would've said that now I'm going to have an attitude thinking about it.

At the funeral

"Omg they look like you when you where younger Evonne" some lady said

"You talking about the twins right cause I don't look nothing like her" I say with an attitude

"You know ima just walk away because she has a stank attitude no wonder u got rid of her..."

The lady walks away and I was about to hit her until Evonne husband grabbed me and said "don't sweat it she's always that bitter" we started to laugh

"Come on guys let's go get our seats"

The ceremony started and it was an open casket type thing and everybody went up there to give there condolences.

"Come on Majesti go give your condolences" Jack(Evonne husband) said

"Why should I... I don't know that man" I said looking at him crazy

"You're right haha" Jack said laughing slightly

It's time to go back to the house and it's going to be a big dinner with all the family members and stuff. We went out to the grocery store and got all the supplies...

"What are we making tonight" I asked Evonne

"We'll be making Mac and cheese, chicken, baked beans, collard greens, cornbread, cake, brownies and pasta salad"

"Oh my goodness this food finna be hittin" I said rubbing my hands together

"Haha wow relax girl you acting like you never ate this before" jack said

"I haven't honestly well not for a long time at-least when my dad died that was the last time I ever had food like that" I said

"Your dad died" Evonne asked me

"Yeah he did... he got murder and I had to go into the system because, my bitch ass mother wasn't a mother and didn't step up to the plate... she left me at 3 what kind of mother does that and not to mention the fact she didn't even sign the birth certificate.... that's how I know her bitch ass planned for this too happen." I said angrily

After I expressed myself Evonne and Jack just looked at each other like they knew something I didn't which had me curious and I wanted to know.

"Y'all know something what's going on" I asked

"I don't know anything better ask Evonne" Jack said

"What the fuck is going on stop sugar coating the shit and tell me" I said getting more mad

"Just go get the cake batter don't worry about it everything is fine okay." Evonne said trying to push me away

"Man this is bullshit" as I started walking towards the aisle I heard Evonne whispering

"How you just going to throw me under the bus like that"

"I didn't throw you under the bus I don't know nothing... I don't need to know nothing"

"I'm going to tell you when we get to the house"

"No you're not.. I want no parts"

"You're my husband we are in this together"

"No we are not... I'm not going to break her heart because of your dirty secret keep me out of it"

When I finished ease dropping on their conversation he walked away into a different aisle and I continued my journey to pick out the cake and brownies.
