!! TRIGGER WARNING !!: MENTIONS OF ACCIDENTS AND HOSPITALS
It took the everyone a long time to accept Ricky as a best friend and brother as he had been before anything even happened to the group of them.
Before Slane Castle, everything seemed like a constant drunken cycle that needed to be broken.
So, he went to rehab for thirty days, and got clean. He hadn't had alcohol in weeks when he went in, but he went to be sure that it wouldn't become an excessive thing in his life anymore.. and everyone congratulated him on that.
Things between himself and Jaime were pretty awkward. They were talking, and exchanged phone numbers again when Ricky got a new phone.
Ryan was trying as hard as he could to be cool around Ricky, but it was one of the hardest things that he has ever done. How could he just go back to accepting someone who called his daughter a mistake and abused his girlfriend? It was seemingly impossible.
Ryan told Charlie this as well.
"Charles, listen. You and Tegan are the best things that have ever happened to me, but I have no idea how anyone is accepting Ricky so easily. I get he's your brother, but he abused you, and called Tegan a mistake! I don't find that acceptable at all." He said.
Charlie sighed and ran her hands through her hair. "I know, Ry. I know. I have the scar's to prove it all.. I'm not finding it very easy either. I do appreciate that he is making an effort, though. At least we know he's trying. But, he won't be getting to babysit Tegan by himself for a long time.. maybe not even at all." She said.
The two were stood in the kitchen, drinking coffee as Tegan was sat in the living room, in her stroller watching Mickey Mouse as she dozed off to sleep.
Ryan wrapped his arms around Charlie, and buried his face in her hair. "I'm sorry, Charles, I just hate not being able to trust him. I want him to have a relationship with Tegan and yourself, but that's pretty hard, given the circumstances." He said.
Charlie hugged Ryan back, tightly. "You don't have to be sorry, Ryan. Everyone has had a lot to deal with, you more than most of us.. I can't even tell you how relieved I am that you've stuck with me through everything that has happened."
The two talked for a while longer, before Ryan went into the living room to check on Tegan.
She was fast asleep in her stroller.
He took up her baby blanket from the couch and lay it over her body, wondering how he got so lucky to have a baby girl like her.
He sat on the couch, not wanting to leave the room in case Tegan woke up. Granted, he knew that she wouldn't wake up because she just fell asleep, but he was always pretty protective over Charlie and Tegan.
I mean.. how couldn't he be protective over them?
After everything that Charlie had been through, Ryan did not want Tegan's life to be fucked over by Ricky the way Charlie was. He doesn't want Tegan to have the same childhood as Charlie had.. he wanted Tegan to grow up knowing how loved and honoured she is by everyone.
Ryan's P.O.V
Okay, to some people I'm just a normal protective Dad. I want my girls to be okay, and not have anything go wrong for them.
To others, I'm way too over protective and need to chill.
But, let me ask you something..
Wouldn't you be over protective too if your girlfriend had an abusive relationship with her brother, found out that she is adopted and her birth parents apparently "don't matter", her adoptive parents were abusive and she had to stab someone back in self defense at what should have been one of the best nights of her life.
So yes, I'm protective over my girlfriend and our child.
I decided to stay in the living room with Tegan. I cannot even begin to express how much she has changed my life.. I have my own baby girl! She is perfect in every way possible, and I know damn well that Charlie and the other guys and girls agree with me on this more than anything.
As for Charlie: best. girl. ever.
And no, I'm not going to go off on how much I love her because she knows how much I love her and I don't feel the need to have a whole rant to anyone who is reading about my love for her. We have a child, why wouldn't I love her?
I heard a phone ring from the kitchen and Charlie answered it. I didn't really bother listening in, and found myself getting frustrated by the dumbass that is Dora The Explorer.
Yes I do see the ocean behind you. No I don't care that your backpack talks and yes I wish that damn fox would just give in and kill you.
Unfortunately, it wouldn't be Dora that would be killed tonight.
I heard Charlie scream from the kitchen.
I ran in and she was still on the phone and safe. She was in hysterics, and I knew something bad had happened.
She threw the phone across the room and I heard it smash, but that was the least of my worries right now.
"Charles, what's wrong?!" I asked, obviously worried because a phone rang, and my girlfriend screamed and is now crying.
"I-..I.." She couldn't even put a sentence together.
I picked her up and sat her up on the counter, and then got her a glass of water.
"Breathe, Charles.. breathe. What's up?" I asked as I handed her the water.
She took a sip of it, as more and more tears fell down her face.
"It's Jaime.." She said.
I looked her dead in the eyes. "What just happened?"
"She w-was in a car crash.. they don't think she's going to survive, sh-she's going to survive, Ryan.. I-.. I can't.." She said, and her eyes rolled back, and she passed out.
I heard myself scream on auto-pilot, and I heard Tegan wake in the living room, as Charlie began sliding off the kitchen counter where I had sat her to calm down.
I picked her up and brought her to the living room, wetting a cloth and putting it on her forehead. I got Tegan to calm down and I called Chris and Ghost.
End Of P.O.V
Chris and Ghost were very shocked when Ryan called them to come over out of the blue, but he sounded desperate and in need of help, so they went over as quick as they could, only to be greeted by the shocking scene of Ryan crying, Charlie passed out on the sofa and Tegan crying in Ryan's arms.
Chris took Tegan off of Ryan and Ghost drove Ryan and Charlie to the hospital, and Ryan explained everything that had happened leading up to Charlie passing out.
Ghost was just as shocked as Ryan was, and he had to blink back his tears as he drove to the hospital.
Charlie was given a bed instantly, and Ryan and Ghost were forced to stay out of the hospital room as they performed tests on Charlie.
They both yelled and fought with doctors until they were eventually allowed to go into her.
"Alright, so.. she has a badly bruised back, and that's kind of it. She passed out due to stress, she was not in any harm and can be released tonight. Do you know what caused her the stress?" The doctor said.
Ryan nodded. "O-Our friend, Jaime, was in an accident and they don't know if she is going to be able to survive the injuries." He said, crying again. Ghost broke down too.
The doctor looked at Ryan very quickly.
"Jaime Levitski?" He asked.
Ryan nodded.
"Room 208.." The doctor said before walking out.
