That So Does Not Match Her

As I walked up to the enormous grey castle by the ocean, I handled the black stone necklace on my neck, my fingers gliding across every curve of the black leaf, turning it golden for a second. Encompassing the castle were several people, chattering and talking. To a human eye, someone would think they were teens, kids, and adults taking part in a school subject, a camp, or anything else. Since their minds wouldn't be able to see past the glamour. Moreover, truly it was a hideout for monsters. Looking past their glamour, I could see horns, fangs, claws, warts, wings, and many more. Walking up to the door like
everyone else, I shriveled my nose in disgust. A vampire looked over at me in confusion.

I rolled my sea blue eyes, "You would have thought she would match her outfit with her snakes better."

No answer, is this vampire mute? I pointed at the Medusa woman at the door, her orange dress clashing with her vicious snakes horribly.

"An orange dress?" I scoffed. "Who decided an orange dress would look good on her? Her snakes look like they are about to puke."

"Well, they are green..." The vampire shook his head, letting me catch a glimpse of his white fangs. I raised my eyebrows.

"No duh." I drawled out. "But that isn't the point. The point is orange and green does not match at all."

The vampire gave me a weird look, his pitch black eyes flashing, "She's the director."

"So?"

"Don't disrespect her."

My hand itched at my side.

"Disrespect her? Where did you get that idea? I was just offering some fashion help."

"Siren-"

"Jheeze, Vampire. Chill out. Oh, wait. Arent, you supposed to be cold? Like Edward Cullen?"

"What?"

I frowned. "Wait. So...you know what movies are right?"

He moved his hand through his black hair.

"Um." I guess I should check that off of my bucket list, I thought, I've rendered a Vampire speechless.

"Ok... so, you know TV's, right? The one's humans watch?"

"The flashy box thing?" He nodded slowly as if he knew what I was talking about.

"Yeah. So there's this thing," Oh god, I yelled in my head, I'm terrible at
explaining stuff. "And it's called a DVD, and in there, it's like people acting out your favorite books and stuff."

"So...Dracula?"

"Well, yeah. There was a movie based off of that book."

"Who is Edward Cullen then?"

"He's a Vampire."

"Why haven't I heard of him?"

I suppressed the urge to roll my eyes. If I knew it would be this annoying, I would have kept my opinions to myself.

"Because he's fictional. Are you serious though? You've never watched a movie?"

The Vampire stared at me hard. "No, I thought monsters never lower themselves to human ways."

I laughed nervously. "Sirens need girl nights too?"

Luckily the Medusa woman started talking to the crowd, "Hello Monstersss," Her snakes grinned. "Here behind me, isss the one and only, Black Hole. A few yearsss back,
we were almost revealed to the humanss-"

"Why is that a problem?" A Witch shouted in the crowd. "Can't we just expose ourselves?" She simpered. "It would be total chaos, and you know it. It would be glorious."

I looked around at the angry faces cheering in agreement.

"Let us see their frightened faces!"

"Why should we watch them laugh at those untruthful stories if we can make them quiver in fear!"

"Ridiculous!? Unrealistic!? Ha! Mr. President, I'll show you unrealistic!"

"QUIET!" The Medusa screamed in authority, and there was silence. "I know you want humans! I do too! It's in our nature. Although, we have people who can overpower
us."

Without realizing it I snickered. And cue the heads. Every head in the crowd snapped toward me as if I had cackled through a microphone.

"What isss funny?" The Medusa cocked an eyebrow behind her black shades.

I grinned unfazed by her 'disconcerning' look. "Well, it's actually hilarious. The 'oh no! The hopeless savage demons get destroyed by the all mighty Monster Hunters' is quite truly hysterical."

"We are not hopelesss." She said back in an over exaggerated offended tone.

I straightened my pink dress as I looked in her green eyes. "We're acting like it."

"What do you suppose we should do about it then?"

I opened my mouth to answer when I felt an electrical tap on my shoulder. I turned around, trying not to showing my revulsion of the bright yellow creature's wings.

She looks like a dead bee in that outfit. I muttered in my head.

"Excuse me, but, many of us don't know what you're talking about." The fairy nodded her head with the other creatures around her.

I smirked, adjusting my black sweater cardigan. "You want me to tell you?Or do you want your 'director' to exaggerate it?"

"Uh."

The Medusa gave me a calculated look. "Please, do tell."

I grinned as I carefully touched my bracelet on my wrist -it was a matching one to my necklace- and started talking.

"For every villain, there is a hero. Take that any way you want it. However, in this case, there are people called Monster Hunters. Some say they are half Monster, half Human, but I truly believe they are the opposite, half Angel, half Human. That's why they are still Human and can overpower us. You can't smell them, to see if they are Monster Hunters since many smell like Monsters or Humans naturally. So that gives them the power to sneak up on us. Some say, their equipment designed by the Gods, but I believe that it was also from the love and courage around them. Because,
a shield isn't useful if it's used to hurt, it's useful if it's used to protect.Which, to protect, you have to learn to be brave and courageous. And, to be brave and courageous, you have
to know how to love and to be loved. To protect, you have to have someone to protect. Monster Hunters have always been one step ahead of us, and all we are doing is letting
them."

"Nonssense." The Medusa scoffed, her snakes inching toward me. She kept on talking as if I hadn't said anything. "Everyone, you are dismissed. Find a room, and prey in groupsss. Monster Hunters can overpower uss, but we won't let them. If they come, they will be facing an army. Welcome the Black Hole, a hideout for Monstersss. One day, the world will be ourss."
