Chapter Seven: Mates

Flashback

"You... can't... help.... me. Im... already... gone..." I forced myself to say, barley breathing.

"No. No. No. No. No. I can. I can help you." She shook her head violently, tears streaming down her face.

"I love you, Jazlynn, my sister." I smiled, and wiped her tears.

"I love you, too, Dakota, my brother." She said as she sobbed. I dropped my hand, and she held on to it.

"It's... okay..." I whispered, as the darkness got darker.

I closed my eyes, and everything went black.

Jazy's P.O.V

"Nononononononononononononononononononononononono..." I cried, as I held my brothers limp body, rocking back and forth. He told me it was okay, but how was it okay? My long lost brother just died right after reuniting with him.

"It's all my fault... I should've gotten to him quicker... Oh my god... It's all my fault..." I mumbled, as I stroked my brothers face. Tears were streaming down my face, and sobs were wracking my body like there was no tomorrow.

Leo stepped up to me, and gently tore my grip from him. I didn't want to leave him, so I started thrashing in Leo's grip. I was sobbing, screaming at Leo to let me go. All he did was gently, but firmly, wrap me in his arms, and comfort me.

"Jazlynn Joyce, do you think this is what Dakota would've wanted? You sobbing over him all day? Come on. I'll have the boys take his body, and clean him up, while we go to my house. Is that okay? The boys would join us later?" Leo asked, while rubbing circles on my back. I nodded, and slowly stood up, mostly leaning on Leo.

"Do you want to fly, Leo?" I smirked, and watched as his face formed fear.

He quickly shook his head, and stumbled back, as I stalked towards him.

"Why not, Leo? You scared of heights? Or of my powers?" I taunted him, backing him up against a tree, dragging my finger against his chest.

"Um... I - I d-don't k-know..." Leo stuttered, not looking into my eyes.

"Well, you better not be. You should know I would never hurt anyone of you on propose. That, and, your my best friend, Leo." I said, laughing at his reaction.

'Tanaya? Are you alright?' I asked my wolf, knowing that she just lost her brother.

'I'll be okay in time. Right now let's continue to have some fun. Want to surprise them more?'

'Of course. What do you have in mine? Something we've never done before?'

'Let's shift, but not before making them shift. We can run and make them chase, then turn, covering our scent, then jump them from behind. Their faces would be priceless!' She yelled excitedly. 

'We've never shifted like this before. Is it going to be okay?

'Yes. You think I would let anything happen to you? She asked, and I shook my head.

"Guys? I've got a better idea." I said, as I put my brothers body in the earth, and turned towards them.

"What?" They asked in unison.
