Chapter Eighteen: Addressing the Past

Flashback

I went, and sat on the porch steps, away from everyone. Soon, twenty minutes passed, and I started expecting Jazlynn to show up any second; I was right, two seconds after I stood up, to be ready for my mate, a portal appeared, scaring the wits out of everyone, but me. I heard yelling, growling, and hissing, and then I heard the sounds of fighting. I was about to go through the portal, but then, a very pissed off Princess walked through, with someone else's blood covering her black cloak. She walked right over to me, ignoring everyone's bewildered looks, and threw her arms around my neck. I suddenly heard whistling, and I knew it was from the portal by the way Jazlynn tensed. She turned around, and caught a knife covered in poison, just before it hit the both of us in the chest. She stormed up to the portal, and threw the knife back, hitting someone, by the scream of pain the followed.

"You have twenty-four Earth hours to call off the war against Planet 156, or you will die a slow, agonizing death from that poison I modified." She, then, closed the portal, and called out to me, looking around.

"Babe? You were just over here... Are you okay?" I asked, as she slowly walked over to me, her wings sagging against her back, as a sign of tiredness.

"No... Three weeks have passed in Planet 155 time, and I didn't sleep a wink." She managed, before almost collapsing in my arms.

Hey, Dad?

Yes, my son?

Will you teleport Jazy to our room, so the others don't see her weak? I know she wouldn't like that.

Of course. Jazlynn disappeared from my arms, and I knew she landed safely in our bed.

Thank you.

Anything for you, my son.

I turned to everyone, and said one sentence, that had all of them, closing their open mouths.

"She's changed; get over it, and accept it." Then I teleported to where my mate was, and fell onto the bed. I wrapped my arms around Jazlynn, and she snuggled right into my chest, sighing contently. It wasn't long before, I, too, was passed out cold.

Jazy's P.O.V

I was exhausted.

As soon as I reached Ben's arms, I passed out cold. I remember him snuggling up to me in bed, but other than that, it was just sleep, sleep, and more sleep.

I looked at the alarm clock on the nightstand next to the bed, and saw it was 1:34 in the afternoon.

I slept longer than I thought...

When I turned back around to Ben, he was gone, and in place was a note, and a small flower.

I didn't want to wake you, because I know you've gone awhile without a good night's sleep. If you want to find me, I'll be training the stupid idiots that are currently trying to charm us with sweets, coffee, and a cooked breakfast. They really do kiss ass to more powerful beings to protect them, don't they? Well, I'll see you when you wake up, baby. I love you.
