The Last of Us (Joel Miller x Female!Reader)

Henry and Sam

After making our way through parts of this quarantine zone, we get inside of a building when we hear a voice yell. "Run!" We look through the window and see a couple of people running away from the military humvee. 

"Oh shit, get down, get down." Joel told us and we kneel down as we see the two people get gunned down. "What do we do?" Ellie asked us. "Nothing." Joel and I replied. "No..." we hear a woman say until we heard a gunshot ring out. We slightly look up to see that the hunters had killed the two people.

"Busy couple a days, huh?" We heard one of the hunters say. "Whatever, man. Damn. No food, old pair of shoes. They got nothin'. Let's go." said the second hunter. "Alright." The first hunter said and they get into the humvee and drive away. "Oh man..."  Ellie whispered. "There ain't nothin' we coulda done." I told her. "I know...it's just...oh man." She said, defeated. "Let's just get to that bridge." Joel replied and we start to leave. "Okay." Ellie mutters as we go through a door to our left then up the stairs.

"Well, at least they finally killed that couple. I was sure they made it out of the city. Now all we need to find is this fucking pickup truck trio." We hear a voice say. We crouch down and look around the corner as the voices continue.

"There better've been an army in that truck. How the fuck did they wipe out an entire crew over there?"

"Let's keep searching. I wanna wrap this up by sundown."

We lean in close to the corner until we saw a hunter come up. Luckily, he didn't see us and Joel jumped up, grabbed him and start to strangle him. We make our way through this building until we came up to a hallway, that seemed to have been blown out as to our right lead outside. We jumped down from there and make our way outside, passing by the tall abandoned towers and buildings.

"Hey....you hear they finally caught the guy, and the woman and their girl?" We hear a hunter ask his buddy and we hide behind an abandoned cop car. "Who's left then. Just the guy, the woman and the kid, right?" Another asked. "Yeah, them....and whoever was in that pickup truck. This is damn mess." replied a third hunter as they patrol.
I pull out another nail bomb and through it in the street. It clanks on the concrete, which catches the hunters attention. They walk over to where they heard the noise until the bomb explodes, killing them.
We stand up and walk down a street to see some dead soldiers with a note spray painted on the wall above them. 

Death For Freedom

"Geez. I guess this is how it ended for this zone." Ellie said as she looks at the scene before her. "Well, every battle's got a losing side." Joel replied. "What if they have families?" Ellie asked. "Everyone has a family." I said then I let out a heavy sigh. "Best not to dwell on it." Joel said as he starts to walk over to an old fire escape. "How can you not?" She asked as we come up to the fire escape and see that the ladder is too high.

"Hey -- get me up there." Ellie said and Joel stands under the ladder and cups his hands. She places her foot in his hands and he boosts her up, she reaches out and grabs the ladder and pulls it down. "There ya go." Joel said as he sets her down. She climbs up the ladder and Joel gestures me to go next. 

We climb up on it then walk around the platform then jump down on the other side of the wall. "There's another one." Ellie said and we look over and see her point at a poster for a movie called Dawn of the Wolf part 2. "These posters are everywhere...." Ellie said as she looks at the picture which consisted of a young girl hugging up to a wolf-like man and fire was a blaze behind them.

"I saw this right before the outbreak." I replied as we look up at the poster. "You did? What about you, Joel?" She asked him. "No, I was lucky. I had to work that day." Joel replied. "Yeah, lucky..." I muttered. "Does he totally gut her by the end?" Ellie asked me. I scoff and said. "Nobody gets gutted. It's a dumb teen movie."
