Chapter 3

Nothing? Did everyone we talked to lie to us?

"What? Is this some kind of joke? I don't climb a hill for an hour to see nothing!" Ruby said while getting mad

"You know what?! I'm done with this! I'm just gonna run into the grass to never be seen again!" Ruby said while visibly turning red.

Ruby ran into the short grass and I ran after her.

"Ruby wait! May-" One second I saw her and the next I don't. Where so she go?

"Ruby? Ruby!!" I said while visibly panicked. Where did she go?

I see her seamlessly appear out of thin air. Is she a ghost?

"Ruby! There you are! What just happened?" I said while running to her.

"Woah! That was so cool! Did you see it?" Ruby said

"What?" I said. See what? The grass over there?

"That's it! Ok you I probably just disappeared to you don't I? Don't answer that I know I did. Well I went through a invisible barrier." Ruby said

"Your right!" I said. How did she know this?

"You wanna go in together? It's super cool!" Ruby said.

I was confused but, whatever.

"Ok! 1,2,3" I said. We locked hands and I closed my eyes. I felt something like slime pass through my body.

Woah. This was it. The school. Apparently people set up shop here too. There were what seamed like 100s of stands there for any type of magic and flight. I guess a lot of different types and years of magic experience all where here so it made sense.

I looked up to see nothing of what I saw earlier. The sky was a cool galaxy color that still admit light. I even saw a group of girls flying or talking in the air.

"Ruby! Why are they flying! They could get shot and die!" I said with panic in my voice.

"Your so dumb Jasmine! Only people with magic can pass into this protection bubble. It's fine. Spreaking of witch, my wings are tired of being in my jacket all day. Let's fly around and see stuff! School doesn't officially start for two days anyway. We have time." Ruby said while taking off her coat. Her purple wings where underneath it. So pretty.

"Jasmine?! Where are your wings?!" Ruby said with shock when she looked at me and remembered I had no coat on.

"What? I just put away them like I normally do. Why don't you do that? It's much easier." I said. I don't know why she was so confused.

Ruby practically dragged me to a tree a few feet away.

"What do you mean "put away"?? That's impossible! You can only fold your wings! Not "put away" them! Only one person can do that and s-" Ruby stopped her self mid sentence. I don't know who "s-" was I don't really care.

"I can! Watch!" I said while closing my eyes. I consecrated and felt my wings grow out. I opened my eyes when I felt I was done. It's a good feeling. I'll never get tired of it.

I heard Rubys gasp when I opened my eyes. I few other people were watching but looked away when I made eye contact. I looked back a Ruby and she looked at if she had seen a ghost.

"Ruby? Are you ok? Are my wings bigger then yours? They look a little bigger." I said jokingly.

Ruby snapped out of it and said "let's go" and she took off in a spilt second.

"Wait up!" I said. I wasn't used to flying super quick. I closed my eyes and concerted I felt my feet get off of the ground. I lost some of my focus. I gave up and open my eyes.

I was flying! I'd flown before, but only from jumping. I was shocked. My wings felt like a different being. I tried and felt in control again. I was super excited and flew up with all I had. Apparently that was a lot.

I looked around to see the whole tent city below me. I look up and the school was right there. It looked like castle. I was sure gonna get lost in there.

I looked around to see ruby talking to some girls I don't know. I don't know anyone actually so. I see that they don't know I'm here. Perfect. With my new found confidence in flying I make a plan.

I'm going to fly right behind them and make a sharp turn to be right next to Ruby. Once they all turn back around they'll be shocked by my sudden presence. Not a super fun plan but it'll work. Hopefully no one is to shocked my me.

I concentrate. Ready, set, go. I fly as fast as I can and I make sure I'm only a few inches from them. I don't have my eyes open, but I feel my wing brush lightly against one of there shirts. I make a sharp turn about two seconds later. I open my eyes and see Ruby a few feet from me.

I fly/run to her and when they turn around, I'm right there. All of them look shocked. I think it was worth it. One of the girls looks pale.

I turn to get a better view of her when I see her close eyes and fall. Everyone screams bloody murder.
