Adam sat on the creaky wooden chair and stared at the torn newspaper.
He had nothing to live for because everyone around him was gone. He took a deep breath and turned the half torn page to reveal a  picture of his younger brother.
It was weird to see the picture. His brother looked so happy and he was smiling. Adam couldn't remember the last time he saw him smile. For months it was just dead silences and blank facial expressions. At least he was alive then.
Adam formed a small tear in his eye. He was stupid for not noticing. His brother had been bullied for years by a group of guys at his school for being gay. One day it got to him and Adam walked into the bathroom and saw him hanging there by a thick rope wrapped around his neck.
Adam read the article below the picture:
Young boy pushed to breaking point after abusive bullying and torment lead to suicide.
Adam stood up and walked over the wall and rested his head in his hands. He looked out the window to see how many sinners were outside. There was only one, it walking across the empty road towards the block of spoiled beef that Adam put there. It had blood dripping from its nose and mouth. Adam went over to the door and grabbed his hockey stick. He stumbled with his keys as he unlocked the door.
Adam walked along the hallway leading through his apartment block and came to the door leading outside. He leaned his head out and checked again. It was trying to get the beef he left out for it. Adam then ran across the footpath and went inside the phone box. He put a coin into the slot and dialed the supermarket helpline. Then a robotic voice came one
Sorry for the inconvenience as 'Go Save'  staff aren't currently available right now.
Adam put the phone down and cursed under his breath "Fucking security system!". Adam's guess was that if the phones answering machine was working then so was the sensor alarms inside the shop which would draw attention to him.
He got out of the phone box and crouched down he scurried across the road over to his parked car. He could see a horde approaching in the corner of his eye. He unlocked his car and got in. He put his hockey stick in the passenger seat but got sidetracked when he saw a smashed corpse leaning against a wall. Adam let out a deep breath and put the car in gear he put his foot down on the accelerator and left to scavenge the town.
