Grayson's P.O.V

I didn't know what was going on. The music had been blasting a few minutes ago, but now it's completely muffled – I can't even make out the lyrics. There's a drilling pain in my head and my view is progressively becoming more and more blurred. I feel numb all over, but the one thing I can feel is someone on me. At first, I didn't recognise them and I thought it was just some random chick, but then I noticed the blonde hair and the slutty outfit. That son of a bitch. I began to recall what had happened; I knew I shouldn't have taken the drink she offered me, but I didn't want to be rude. Besides, although we had a rocky past and I have no intentions of ever being in bed with her again, I don't like having bad relationships with people. Well, that was before she fucking spiked my beer. I tried to push her off of me, but I was too weak and sloppy. I decided to try and talk instead.

Gray: "Mad-Maddie, st-stop, get o-off of m-me. I d-don't want y-you. I l-lo-love Y/N." My speech was slurred and I didn't think she would understand what I was saying, but to my surprise, she backed away from me.

Maddie: "Don't worry babe, my work here is done." She smirked at me before looking at someone behind me and then walking off to her friend, who was pointing a camera at us. I spun around, confused, nearly falling to the ground, and then I saw her. Even though my sight was cloudy, I could recognise her anywhere; Y/N. I could feel myself growing weaker by the second, and my legs were close to collapsing underneath me, but I didn't care. I had to get to her, and I had to tell her what just happened. I don't think I could bare her thinking I had intentionally kissed Maddie, not when I was in love with her. I tried to push through the people in front of me, but it was no use. Before I could get anywhere near to reaching her, she turned and ran.

Gray: "N-no! Y/N! Wa-wait!"

And just like that, she was gone.

Ethan's P.O.V

I went to go find Y/N and Gray, but when I walked into the kitchen, Y/N ran straight past me. She was crying and before I could grab her, she was out the door. I looked around for Gray, and spotted him, hobbling along the floor. I ran up to him, catching him just before he fell over.

Ethan: "Gray, what the fuck just happened? How did you get so drunk so quickly?" I looked into his eyes, and although he was completely out of it, he was clearly hurting. I could see he was weak, and there were tears welling up in his eyes. I dragged him through the crowd and out the front door to the porch. We both sat down on the stairs, and he stared at the ground.

Ethan: "Bro, you gonna tell me what just happened back there?"

Gray: "I- I fucked up.."

Ethan: "What do you mean you fucked up-"

Gray: "It was Maddie! She fucking spiked my drink, and threw herself all over me when Y/N was looking!" He turned to me, furious at himself. The tears were now running down his face, and he looked as if he was about to snap.

Ethan: "Gray, I need you to try and calm down. I saw her run out and she didn't have a car, so she can't have gotten far. I'll go find her and talk to her."

Gray: "Thanks bro.." He glanced back down and started wiping his face dry. He sat there, still and silent, and I could only imagine what was going through his mind right now. I ran off into the streets to find Y/N while calling her, praying to the lord she would pick up.

Your P.O.V

You ran along the pavement, tears streaming down your cheeks. You were holding onto yourself, trying to block out the cold air attacking your skin, but it was no use. You'd lost your heels a while back, and your feet were aching from the stones digging into your soles. You could feel that they were bleeding, but that was the least of your worries. You became too weak to continue running, and your legs gave in beneath you. You collapsed to the floor and laid on the ground. Your body was numb; not only from the cold but also from the pain. You were in love with him, but you'd just watched him with someone else. Even though she was throwing herself at him, he didn't push her away – not once. You thought he felt the same way you did, but you had been wrong this entire time. You should've listened to E; he tried to warn you about his intentions, but you were too blinded by your love for Gray to see what he truly wanted from you. He made you feel special, safe, warm, but you were only a toy to him. Just something he could play around with for a while, before throwing away as if you never meant anything to him, as if what you had never meant anything.

You heard someone running behind you, and at first, you thought it was some creep, but then they called your name.

Ethan: "Y/N! Y/N is that you? Oh my god Y/N!" He finally reached you and pulled you into his arms. You turned around to him and cried into his shoulder, finally feeling wanted. Even if there was nothing 'romantic' between you and E, it felt amazing to be in his embrace; you were safe. You pulled away after a minute or two and looked up into his eyes.

Ethan: "Y/N, we need to talk-"

Y/N: "No! I'm not talking to you about him. He made it clear who he really wants, and I no longer want anything to do with him." That's a lie.

Y/N: "I don't want to be with him," another lie,

Y/N: "And I don't love him anymore!" That was the biggest lie out of all of them. Of course, you still loved him, there was nothing he could do to change that. You hated yourself for it, but you knew deep down that your feelings for him would never fade.

Ethan: "Y/N... you don't mean that. You may want to believe you do, but I know you well enough, you're still in love with him." You paused before answering.

Y/N: "I know..." Ethan pulled you into a hug once again when he saw the look in your eyes.

He hurt you, yet you still loved him, and just as much as before.

You and Ethan eventually made your way back to the house, but by the time you arrived, the party was almost over. Grayson was sitting on the front porch, head in his hands. As soon as he heard you and Eth, his head shot up. His eyes were red and puffy; he'd clearly been crying. He stood up and went to go hug you, but Ethan looked at him and shook his head slightly. He took a step back and looked at the ground. He knew he had hurt you, and you could see that he was hurt too, but you needed space from him to figure things out.

You opened the back door to his jeep and got in, followed by Ethan. Gray walked round to the other side and got in, before turning on the engine and driving home. No one said a word, but it wasn't too awkward due to the music. Grayson pulled up outside yours and didn't even bother to look back at you. You smiled at Ethan and mouthed 'thank you' to him, before hopping out the jeep and walking over to your front door. You headed in and quietly closed the door behind you.

You managed to keep yourself together for the rest of the night, but he never left your mind, not once.
