~AFTER SCHOOL~
You sped through the corridors, trying the get out as fast as you could. You were still embarrassed for the little show you had put on earlier, and you forgot that word spreads fast in your school. Nosy bitches. You could hear all the girls snickering at you, and all the boys whistling as you practically ran past them. You were dreading the moment where you'd see Grayson, but he was your only way home, considering you refused to walk for 45 minutes. As soon as you burst through the doors, you saw him leaning against his jeep, scrolling through his phone. You took a deep breath and mentally prepared yourself for the conversation you'd have to have. You made your way over to him.
Y/N: "Hey Gray..." Your head drifted down towards your feet, you couldn't bring yourself to look him in the eyes. Just as you went to walk around to the other side of the jeep, you felt his hand on your arm, pulling you towards him and into his embrace. He lifted your chin up with his finger, giving you no option but to look up at him. A smirk grew across his lips,
Gray: "Hey, you don't need to be embarrassed about what happened earlier, okay?"
You nodded slightly.
Gray: "Sure it was a bit unexpected, especially from you," he chuckled slightly, and you couldn't help but giggle; his laugh was contagious.
Gray: "But I know you did it just to get Maddie away from me, which I appreciate."
Your smile faded slightly, but you couldn't let him know that that wasn't the reason you'd kissed him. Sure, you wanted to get Maddie off of him, but not because of your fake relationship; it was because you wanted Gray to yourself.
Y/N: "Yeah, I uh- yeah I just wanted to get her the fuck away from you," you said as you tried to smile.
He looked at you before pulling away and jumping into the driver's seat. You sighed to yourself and walked around to the other side.
You threw your bag into the backseat, before turning up the music and looking out the window. You were still confused as to what had happened between you two. When you had kissed him, you thought he felt the same way you do, considering how he kissed you back, how he pulled your body towards his. It felt as if he wanted you, but apparently, you were wrong. This is what you had been scared of, and you'd let yourself fall for him. You'd only been 'dating' him for two days now, but you already knew there was a connection between you. Your parents were right, and they'd been right the entire time. Even if Gray truly didn't feel it, there was something between you two. You felt it.
Grayson's P.O.V
I pulled up to a traffic light and turned towards Y/N. She hadn't said anything since we'd got into the car, and I was starting to worry. Sure, she wasn't that talkative, but that was around other people. She'd always been open with me.
I felt bad for lying to her, but I couldn't tell her what that kiss meant to me... could I? I'd had girlfriends in the past, but this was something different. With all the others, it was just fucking. But with Y/N, I know her. I've seen her at her best, and I've seen her at her worst. I've seen her laugh, and I've seen her cry. I've seen her when she was strong, but I've also seen her when she was weak and helpless. I've seen every side to her, and I love every part of her. I want to be able to call her mine, and I want to hold her in the middle of the night. I want to be able to take her out on cheesy dates and buy her flowers. I want to be able to feel her body against mine... and I also want to be able to tell her all these things, but I don't think I ever could. I know she'll only ever see me as her goofy best friend.
Your P.O.V
Grayson pulled up outside your house and reached into the back to get your bag. He handed it over to you, and your hand brushed against his when you took it from his grasp. You both smiled at each other, and you got out of the jeep without saying a word. Just before you closed the front door, you saw him looking at you,
Gray: "See you tomorrow morning."
You still didn't say anything, and just nodded, before closing the door. Once the lock clicked, you felt tears escaping your eyes. You ran upstairs and slammed your door shut as the tears became heavier, before collapsing onto your bed. You couldn't stop them from falling, no matter how hard you tried. You finally realised how strong your feeling were. You'd never been able to love someone else because you'd been in love with Grayson this whole time. You knew him inside and out, and there wasn't a single thing about him you would change. You wanted to be in his arms right now, but one of his hoodies you'd borrowed would have to do.
For the rest of the school week, you two talked in school and acted like a couple, but you had disconnected from him. You'd convinced yourself that if you just spent time away from him, your feelings would fade, and you could go back to being friends.
It was now Friday, and you had just got home after a silent drive with Grayson. You were slightly relieved that it was now the weekend and you could spend some time by yourself, but your mum came into the living room and destroyed your dream.
Y/M/N: "Hey sweetie, how was school?"
Y/N: "Meh, it was okay.." you threw your bag next to the front door and began to make your way up the stairs.
Y/M/N: "You have about two hours to pack before we leave, so you'd better get started," she called after you.
Y/N: "What?"
Y/M/N: "We're going out for the weekend, remember?"
Y/N: "Oh for fucks sake," you muttered as you clenched your jaw.
Y/M/N: "You alright? You didn't forget did you?"
Y/N: "No I uh, just had a stressful day at school, I'll go get my stuff now."
You continued up the stairs and into your room, before slightly slamming your door and turning on your speakers. You played your music on full volume, not caring if it pissed off your parents, you just needed anyway to distract yourself from this trip. You took about 1 hour to get everything packed, so you went into the bathroom and started to run a shower. You went back to your bedroom to pick out an outfit; you went with a white crop top, some mauve pink joggers and white trainers, as well as a long, grey, woollen coat.
You spent 25 minutes in the shower, before changing into your clothes. You threw your hair up into a messy bun and put on some moisturiser, but you didn't bother with makeup.
You carried your bags down the stairs and put them by the door, before making your way into the kitchen to get some food. You settled with a breakfast bar and a glass of water since you weren't that hungry. You jumped onto the sofa and browsed through Netflix, before choosing a series and getting comfy.
~5:30~
The doorbell rang and you paused the TV, before walking over to the door. When you opened it, you were greeted by Ethan, Gray and his parents.
Sean: "Hey Y/N, long time no see," he said as he pulled you into a hug.
You chuckled and hugged him back. You both pulled back and you went to hug Lisa. You moved out the way so that they could all come in and wait for your parents to finish up. Everyone made their way into the living room and the boys jumped onto the sofa.
Your parents finally came down the stairs, saving you from an awkward conversation with the Dolan's parents about your relationship with Grayson.
Y/M/N: "Everyone ready?"
Lisa: "Yup, let's get going!"
You went to grab your bags, but Grayson got there first.
Gray: "You're coming with me remember," he said as he smirked and raised an eyebrow.
You rolled your eyes and followed him to his jeep. He loaded your bags into the back, before getting into the driver's seat. Ethan jumped into the back and positioned himself in the middle, leaving you to sit next to Grayson. You got in and sat there in silence.
Ethan: "Oh cheer up will you Y/N, this will only be a fun weekend for you if you actually try."
You decided he was right and smiled at both of them, before turning up the music. You all sang at the top of your lungs and fucked about. Ethan was actually tolerable now, and Grayson was being himself; a lil goof.
Maybe this weekend wouldn't be as bad as you'd expected.
