VIII. Stealing Glances

Monday morning....

Jisoo was on her own assigned cubicle helping Mr. Kang encode all of the company's files.

When Hyuna suddenly approached her.

She was as usual wearing her red revealing dress with dangling silver earrings her ears. Her lips full of liptint was obvious.

She was carrying a pile of papers.

"Hey servant. Type this and make sure you finish it in one hour. It's for the meeting later." Hyuna commanded her with her arrogant tone.

Jisoo sighed.

That witch always makes me finish up her tasks....She thought.

She then started encoding as quickly as possible.

-ONE HOUR LATER-

Jisoo was able to finish encoding all the files, however as soon as she finished up, she got flat tired and fell asleep on her desk.

Nam Joon happened to pass by and see her state.

She must be really tired....He thought.

He then slowly carried her bridal style up until his office.

He placed her down on the couch.

He then tucked some of her hair strands behind her ears.

I'm not giving up in confirming if it's really you. My gut feeling is telling me that I shouldn't give up yet...He thought as he placed a blanket over her.

He suddenly remembered what Mr.Kang reported to him the other day about her studying at Italy and having a part time job. It was the same exact place where he met that girl that's he currently trying to locate now.

And he also remembered that time when he and Jisoo both ate dinner.

Jisoo exactly muttered the type of mixture he wanted for any dishes he's going to order in restaurants.

Everything is slowly uncovering for him.

Suddenly, his phone rang.

He went to answer it and went outside his office.

Jisoo was finally waking up and she was surprised to see where she was at.

She stood up and went outside the office whilst rubbing her eyes full of morning glory.

"Sooyoung ssi... Are you eating well?" Jisoo hid behind the wall as she saw Nam Joon speaking on the phone.

Jisoo's expression turned into a frown.

Now I remember, he's engaged with Sooyoung... I've heard the news after I left him back at the hospital...Jisoo thought sadly.

She then walked away.

Her memories with Nam Joon suddenly flashed back to her.

Then a tear trickled down her cheeks. Guilt started consuming her.

If only... If only I wasn't coward enough to leave him back then...She thought.

She went back to her cubicle and continued crying there.

Little did she know that Nam Joon was now standing there all along.

"Are you crying?" He asked her.

She instantly wiped her face with her handkerchief.

"No I'm not. It's just that my eyes were itchy." She made up an alibi as she continued rubbing her eyes using the handkerchief with pretention.

"Anyways... I want you to come with me tonight at the Company's 2nd Annual celebratory party, you could bring your friends." Nam Joon said

He then handed her a brown paper bag.

Jisoo this time, accepted the paper bag.

"Why do I have to go?" She asked

"Your presence is highly needed there especially that you're my servant."

Jisoo looked at the paper bag and pouted.

That night....

"Hyung! Wassup?"Jungkook man-hugged Nam Joon.

Hoseok, Yoon Gi, Taehyung and Jin also went to approach Nam Joon.

"Bro I'm so glad your company is at its highest condition." Hoseok said

"Of course, our hardworks totally paid off." Nam Joon replied.

"Oh.. look a proud friend here." Jin chuckled.

Just then, Jisoo finally arrived together with her friends.. Rosé, Jennie and Lisa as Nam Joon told her that it was okay to bring her friends.

She then went to approach Nam Joon and his friends

"Hello CEO nim." She greeted Nam
Joon first.

"Glad you were able to come here." He smiled back at her.

"How are you Rosé?" Jimin asked Rosé

"I'm fine." Rosé replied

"Nice to meet you girls." Hoseok grinned at them.

Lisa and Jennie chuckled at his funny aura.

"Ladies and Gentleman, please stay in your places. The party is about to start." Mr.Kang finally spoke on the stage.

As soon as the party started,

Jisoo can't help but feel as if someone is staring at her.

The moment she turned her head, she saw Nam Joon was actually really staring at her whilst smirking.

Why on earth does he keep on staring at me like that? It's creepy...Jisoo thought.

Darn, she looks beautiful as always....Nam Joon thought as he kept on looking at Jisoo.
