A few weeks Earlier

Jugheads POV

As I was about to leave Riverdale High and head back home I heard a commotion of course you already knew who it was and knew who was causing the rumble who's always causing a fight. Sweet pea. I grabbed him by his serpent jacket to pull him up and away from the north Siders. I dragged him back inside the school. While Toni followed shortly behind.

"JESUS SWEET PEA WHEN WILL YOU LEARN TO STOP?! I pick u out of a fight with the northsiders everyday!" I yelled being frustrated being his babysitter

" I clearly was winning and I could have taken them all by myself go hang out with your north sider friends!" Sweat pea exclaimed punching the locker next to him.

" listen, it doesn't matter if you were winning you could have gotten expelled when will this hate stop?" Toni questioned giving him a sympathetic look

"Fuck off." He stated with an expressionless face and walked away.

Time skip after school Toni and jughead at Pops

"I just dont understand why he must continue fighting?" I questioned

"Well sweet pea had been like this ever since... ya know ...her. He hasnt been the same since her leaving." Toni said drinking some of her strawberry milkshake from pops.

"What, who are you talking about?"

"Ya know *her*" she whispered looking around

"No, I dont *her*. "i said mimicking her laughing in the slightest.

"She was sweat pea first love. The serpents dont talk about her. At least weve learned not to shes a sensitive subject for him." Toni sadly sighed

"Did she die?"

"no, god no. Their story goes back to when we were all kids. Her names Malia and her kiss was was more addictive then heroin. She was beautiful, however, I think she was like an angle of death. When we all had gotten into middle school sweat pea started to grow feelings and when eighth grade came around they were inseparable. When Peas parents abandoned him he'd lost it he started doing drugs and becoming really reckless in the summer before freshman year, however, malia saved him. And for the rest of the year happier then they ever been. However, it didnt last long. Now Im not sure what they did behind closed doors, but malia started to come to school with bruises that seemed like she'd been choked and her and P became distant,cold even, and one day she hugged me and told me she was going to Mexico for a awhile to take care of her grand father who became sick. Of course this was so sudden I was taken aback, but she promised shed be back in 6 months, but she never came back cutting all contacting with us. After she left sweets had just started this rage you see now. He lost the only person who he thought loved him and then the black hood and all this terrible north sider and southsider drama became his outlet for rage. "

"So this is why hes so angry?' I questioned

"yes, and if you ever tell him I told you about what had happened he will kill me for saying something and then kill you for bringing her up." Toni said giving he the glare of death.

Present

Malia's POV

A year ago i had left the southside of Riverdale to take care of my grandfather. Coming back to Riverdale is going to be hard. I hope the Serpent's will allow me back in I've missed my friends and my ex-boyfriend sweet pea. We left on bad terms considering I knew I couldn't stay around because of my grandfather's illness. I was supposed to come back for the end of sophomore year however it didn't happen and I know sweet pea has waited for me for a long time but today is the day I come back home and apologize for my disappearance so, I can fix things with him.
