( chapter two )REECE QUICKLY made his way out of his small home, gripping his little sisters hand as she ran along beside him. throwing his backpack in the back of his mother's van, he buckled the girl's belt in and drove out of the driveway as quick as possible. it was per usual that he was running late, him not having a phone, and give or take his stupid alarm working. he was never awake on time. "bibbybear, can you turn the radio down?" his little sister asked, once they were buckled into the car. her brother being overly distracted, he did the action without responding.
he was quick to drop the girl off, giving her a kiss on the forehead and waving goodbye, he drove off in hopes to pick his friends up on time. blake stood outside of his house, hoping in the passengers seat without any communication. lastly was george, his head peaked through the window almost everyday before walking out, making sure that it was his friends. his hands were covered by his sweater-paws, it could be a billion degrees, but he wouldn't be caught dead without his hoodies. the boys continued in mild silence, the radio filling in as they went to school. they had always dreaded morning, them not being the happiest of people at these hours.
they parted ways, calculus honors was reece's first subject of the day. he was seated at the middle back row. he was very lonesome in that class, the only person he remotely knew was madeleine, but it wasn't as if he'd ever speak or want to speak to her. he didn't know all of her connections, of course. but he knew she was alone in the class as well, the people she did talk to, were obviously infatuated with her. 'they're all so fake to her' reece thought. even though madeleine was seemed to be class royalty, she was clearly more so hated than loved.
the girls wanted what she had and the boys wanted what was in her pants. the whole outlook was so transparent in reece's eyes, so much oblivion the individuals at his school shared. "miss buckingham, mind reciting the formula back to me?" their teacher mr. collins asked. it was reece's time to shine, as madeleine stood up, she brushed the wrinkles off her jeans, opening her mouth to say something.
this was until, reece began to cough simultaneously, causing the girl to be caught off guard. her mind blanked, nervously looking around for the answers that weren't there. "mr bibby, mind telling us the formula?" the teacher asked once again, causing the girl to sit in small defeat. "fx plus or minus gx to the power of one is equivalent to fx to the power of one plus or minus gx to the power of one" he recited, the teacher responding in a smile, before continuing his lesson. he enjoyed embarrassing the blonde girl, if only for a few moments.
