( chapter eleven )WHETHER ELOWEN WANTED to admit it or not, the girl was always in a rush. she could never catch a break from school or her home life. it wasn't a surprise when she found herself colliding into one of her fellow students and dropping all of his things. "i'm sorry, my fault" the british boy mumbled, quickly bending down to pick up his things. elowen didn't catch his face so quickly bent down to make eye contact with the boy, it being george. "george smith, right?" she asked the boy, him nodding in response. "you're madeleine's cousin, and your in a couple of my classes, right?" she asked again, his cheeks stained red. "uhh yes, but i can't force her to be friends with you i'm sorry" he quickly gave her the remaining books he carried and tried his best to walk away.
"no wait, i'm sorry. she told me not to go around blabbing about you two being cousins, its not my place." she said grabbing onto his sleeve making him stop immediately. "oh elowen, i recognize you now, you dyed your hair. it looks nice on you. sorry for being a dickhead and not watching where i was going," george stated to the girl, realizing her connection to madeleine. "was that a compliment?" she smiled, causing him to blush. "but did you see me? another second in math and i would end myself" she laughed causing goerge to chuckle in response. the bell rung, quickly cutting off their conversation, "i'm late for french, see you around smith" elowen stated, him only nodding in response, feeling his body tug at his heart strings. "hey, maddy and a few of my other friends are going bowling tonight, you wanna come? you can bring some friends too, so its not so awkward," she asked before completely walking away, catching george by surprise. "i'll think about it," he smirked cheekily finally walking away.

"we need to talk," madeleine stated as she walked up to the same round library table where reece sat. he looked up with a confused look before responding, "about math? good sit down" he forcefully smiled causing the girl to huff in response. "no not math. about you tutoring me," she mumbled her way through the sentence. although reece was a complete asshole, she wanted to let him down nicely in hopes he wouldn't be spiteful. "perfect, i'm thinking about giving you pop quizzes soon, to see if you're grasping the information." reece stated immediately causing madeleine to turn to confusion as well. "reece no. i don't think you should tutor me anymore," she quietly said, the boys eyes growing dark. "do you know what you're risking, our class gpa, your transcript," reece passively stated, his heart racing. "reece i can find another tutor, plus this is probably a relief for you anyways. i know i'm not your favorite person ever so," she responded, reece brushing his hair back in frustration.
"madeleine, i- i really need this," he stated, causing her to look up from once the ground to his face. "may i ask why?" she questioned, noticing his face turned sour. "i- umm, for my-uh transcript, i don't do extracurriculars remember so me tutoring you, it'd be like, really good" he rushed out his sentences, madeleine feeling intently sorry for him. they stayed silent for a few moments, madeleine finally breaking. "umm okay, but i can't have you having just silently hating me, which i know you do." she quickly stated, not wanting him to lose focus. "then what?" he asked, placing down his pencil which he was playing with in hopes to calm his nerves.
"tutoring doesn't have to be so professional, what if we spend some time outside of this workspace?" she asked pointing to the surroundings of the library. "you're saying i'm suppose to like you if we spend time in what-a park?" he state, the passive aggression in his voice peaking. "no reece. i'm saying you can get to know me if we spend any time whatsoever besides school in general. you hate me, with every bone in your body, i get that. maybe getting to know me, my friends, anything other than my 'school' facade you can understand me..." she huffed out her retorted, him responding with silence. she turned around, noticing delilah and elowen make there way over.
"well i have to go, i kinda called my friends incase this went bad, but it didn't. umm reece?" she asked hoping he'd pay attention. "i'm going bowling later on tonight, maybe you and your friends can come? on me," madeleine smiled, as she hooked arms with delilah. "i'll think about it blossom," he smirked, picking up his bags from the ground and walking away. "am i living in an alternate universe or did you just invite reece and his friends for bowling night," delilah smirked, seeing as madeleine was easing up to reece and his friends. "hey i did too!" elowen stated, causing the girls heads to turn in confusion. "oh yeah i talked to george and invited his friends. them being reece and richardson," she smiled, as they all walked out of the building.
"what an eventful day," delilah nervously smiled. she didn't realize blake richardson would be there around her friends and her brother.
