I arrived in Beacon Hills almost a week earlier and I still had no friends. It was difficult for me to make any at all because I was absolutely a non-friendly-type of person, constantly feeling intimidated by most of the people around me. I never felt enough. My mother died before she could teach me to actually be myself and enjoying that. —
That day I forgot my house keys and I needed to go to the station where my father worked. Walking there I started feeling weird. I was there just by a week but I could notice how the city we went to was—extremely weird and everyone pretended not to see it. My father too. I finally arrived to the Station and got in.
"Good afternoon Miss, do you need anything?" A boy with clear eyes and brunette hair asked. He wasn't older than 30.
"Oh, actually I am looking for my father." The boy was now looking at me with a confused look while I was looking around so I urgently added. "Oh, don't worry. He's not missing. He actually works here. He's the new deputy!" I pinched the bridge of my nose embarrassed.
"Are you deputy (y/l/n)'s daughter?" "I believe that's me." I answered sarcastically.
—
"Thank you for the keys dad. See you later." I yelled going towards the exit. As I got out someone totally bumped into me. I looked up and realized it was a boy from my english class. He was tall that he could almost tower over me. He had a lot of moles on his face, an upturned nose and honey brown eyes. His brown hair falling on his forehead.
"Why don't you just pay attentio-"
"I am sorr- Wait. You are in my class, the new girl. Aren't you?"
"Y/n" I corrected quickly. "Now if you excuse me I have to go to study." I started walking away from him when I heard him again.
"I am Stiles. I am sheriff's son."
"Mind blowing." I rolled my eyes not even bothering myself in looking at him. I kept on walking.
"Yes, I mean no. What I meant is that maybe we can leave together. Like, I have a car and I can take you home if you want to-"
"Fine." I turned around and looked at him who was touching the back of his neck.
"Wait really?" He widened his eyes.
"You were rambling about taking me home and I said yes. So, why not?"
I walked over to his car and grinned widely. I didn't know this boy but he really seemed to be a good person, someone I could easily trust and that's exactly what I tried to do.
"Ok, just wait here. I am going to tell something to my father and I am all yours. Well I didn't mean-"
"Stiles." I stopped his rumbling once again.
"Rambling. Awesome. I'll be here in two minutes." And in a second he disappeared into the station.
— He started to drive silently and this was kinda getting embarrassing. I didn't know what to say or what to do so I just side- looked him carefully not to be caught. The sun getting into the car through the window was illuminating his hazel eyes and his moles. The rolled-up shirt sleeves showed the veins he had on his arms and all this actually made me feel an urgent heat into my cheeks.
"Do I have something on my face?" He asked glancing at me quickly.
"Yes, I mean no-" I shook my head.
"Someone's rumbling."
I wasn't looking at him but I could feel him smile and when I turned to look at him he had a grin printed on his handsome face. "I am not!" I complained. "As you say." He chuckled.
—
He parked the car in front of my house. "Thank you for taking me back home." I looked at him who was nodding his head.
"It's fine. Maybe we could study together sometimes. I saw you are new and maybe-"
"It would be awesome." I smiled at him. It was the first sincere smile I gave someone since I arrived in Beacon Hills.
"See you around."
As long as I got out of his car I heard his deep voice again. "Y/n?" "Yes?" I turned around. "Goodnight." He was smiling. "Goodnight, Stiles." I got into my house, went to my bedroom and I sit on my bed without thinking about anything, just a lightness filling my whole body and I suddenly realized who the responsible was.
