Thomas was the boy I got closer with the most among the fifty boys in the glade. He seemed to understand what I felt, to like what I liked and to protect me whenever I needed that. That place could be hell but he managed to make it feel almost livable. When Theresa arrived I could feel something changed. He barely talked with me because all that mattered seemed to be her. I didn't even trust her and Newt didn't too. I felt like something was up with her but I didn't tell Thomas because I was scared that he could think I was just overreacting or worse, jealous. He didn't need to know I was.

During the bonfire for the new greenie, I was looking for Thomas near the pit but he wasn't there. I looked around and when I saw the map room opened up I decided to get in.

"Thomas are you in-"
Numb. All I felt was Numbness.

Theresa was kissing Thomas' neck and jaw and before I could even realize if he kissed her back, I muttered a quick 'sorry' without even glancing at them and quickly left.

"Y/n, wait!" I heard him yelling but I didn't turn around.

Once arrived to my hammock I tried to steady my breath and some tears left my eyes.

Why was I this upset? We were just friends after all and I didn't even like him so, what was happening to me?

"Y/n? Y/n! Here you are."
Thomas approached my hammock and sit down next to me.

"Hey!" I faked smiled to him.

"About what you saw earlier..-"

"Tommy you don't have to explain." I quickly said shaking my head.

"But I want-"

"You don't owe me anything. Don't worry." I smiled again passing an hand through my hair.

"What is this suppose to mean?" He furrowed his eyebrows.

I knew him well enough to say he was feeling hurt. But what would have hurt him exactly?

"That we are friends and who you kiss is nothing of my business. And who I kiss is nothing of yours. Look, I am tired. See you tomorrow Thomas." I glanced at him who was not moving. He was pretty confused.

"Y-you kissed someone." He firmly said, his hands were about to shake. His tone almost shaking too.

"Who cares?" I asked looking at him.
"I do. I freaking do." He almost hissed. "Is it Newt? Minho?"

"Hey calm down. What is this about? You can go kiss that damn girl but I can't?" I hissed standing from my hammock.

"It's not what-"
"No, shut up. I don't want to listen to a word you say. Do you want to know something, huh? I actually haven't kissed anyone but you did. You did because I will always be your cute little y/n, but you know what Tommy? I am so done. Loving you is not easy and I am tired. Now let me go and go to your beautiful girlfriend, you don't want to let her wait." I started walking away.

"Wow, what's wrong?" Newt asked raising his hands as he saw me passing past him.

"None of your business, Newt." Thomas said then shook his head. "I am sorry mate, I really am."
"Dude." Newt glanced at him with furrowed brows and left. He knew when he had to leave things be.

Thomas quickly grabbed me by my wrist and turned me around.

"Let me go Thomas." I glanced away. I could not stand looking into those eyes.
"I can't." He shook his head.
"Why not?" I furrowed my brows.
"Because I love you too."
He looked at me intensely and leaned down to kiss me passionately. I could not ask for anything better than this.
