Chapter 5

I recited those words ‘Don’t give up; everything is going to be alright’ over and over again until I nearly fell asleep. For three hours I have sat here reciting these words and I wasn’t going to stop.

I felt something, I don’t know what is was but I felt something. Suddenly she squeezed my hand and I flung off the chair to tell Josie but found she was already asleep.

Then her eyes opened and I finally felt relieved, I know she probably wouldn’t know where she was or what she was doing but I was sure going to tell her.

“MUM!” I exclaimed as I jumped off my seat

She turned her head to me and smiled and I couldn’t help but smile back.

“Do you know what?” She said

“I love you too” She added.

I can’t believe it, she actually heard what I said, she heard what I was saying and suddenly I felt a grin the size of Cheshire Cat arise on my face and I couldn’t get it off. She didn’t look to well though but I think she will be alright, I think she will be able to get over this.

Suddenly a pod of doctors swarmed her, taken tests, asking her how she feels and examining her to see if she was alright. Josie was sound asleep on the chair next to me so I wasn’t tempted to wake her up otherwise she would probably hit me, several times.

After she woke up from this ordeal, we had to leave because they had to run a few more in-depth tests to make sure she wasn’t going to fall in another coma of some sorts.

Stood outside, bewildered of what just happened and to be honest couldn’t get a grip of it. I decided to go see the doctors to see what actually happened to her and why she was here….. unconscious.

I walked over to the head doctor’s office and searched the empty office looking for any form of existence at all. Just as I walked out the door I saw someone coming towards me, tall, long blonde hair, pretty face and blue eyes wearing a lab jacket and from the prior knowledge of doctors I presumed she was one as well.

“Oh hello, you must be Teresa’s daughter, I have been expecting you.” She slightly acknowledged me as she walked into her office.

I followed her into her modern and unique office that had pictures of her and her boyfriend scattered around the place.

“What has happened with my mum for the past 10 years!?” I retorted as she sat down at her leather revolving office chair.

“Just sit down I will explain it! Okay?” She responded quite fiercely so I decided I think it was a good choice to obey her.

I sat down slowly and carefully so I wouldn’t end up making those farting noises I always seem to make when I sit down on leather furniture.

“Now about your mother” She said calmly.

“She has been diagnosed with a rare disease that has not been identified yet and we are trying to find just what has actually been happening to her ourselves.” She added.

“But I asked what has happened to her for the past 10 years?” I asked reluctantly.

“When she was about 23 she fainted in her workplace and her boss called the ambulance. After a few days of being unconscious in the hospital she came to her sences and we told her about her that she had a vasovagal responce, meaning that she had fainted. She wanted us to take some test and that afternoon she went to the bathroom and was heard to be coughing. 15 minutes later she was found on the floor unconscious with a tissue covered in blood.” She added as I sat there in awe of just trying to get fractures of what she just said processed in my brain.
