Chapter 4

I thought I should probably go to bed and stop worrying and came to the conclusion that she was at work late tonight.

I went up to my room and lied down on my bed, spread out to think about what just happened and what am I going to do about what’s going to happen next. My eyes started to close and I couldn’t help it and my dream started to play in my head.

There are people here who can do whatever they want; they can be whoever they wanted to be without anyone telling them different. The world seemed happier and there they wouldn’t criticize anyone for what they did wrong but they lead them on with encouragement. From poor old homeless people they spring forth positive and outgoing leaders that lead the world onto greatness. This is what America is like and this is where my new home is.

The smell of pancakes suddenly flew into my mouth which woke me up instantly and threw me downstairs. To my surprise, Josie was up and making pancakes. Oh My Gosh, she looked really pretty when we has no makeup on which makes me feel really insecure about me. I watched her pouring the pancake mix into the pan, so graceful, oh my god, why is she so perfect!

She swung around and I screamed silently and jumped a bit.

“Don’t do that Jose! You scared the living crap out of me you now that!” I said while showing a slight smirk.

She burst out laughing and I couldn’t help myself anymore, we both stood there, laughing as much as we could handle.

Suddenly…

“Oh Crap, I forgot about the pancakes!” Josie exclaimed as she rushed to the pan to flip the pancakes.

I continued to laugh while she was giggling with her back to me.

“So hey, what do you want to do today?” She said.

“I was thinking of going to Dream World? Maybe go on the Giant Drop before I go.” I replied to see what she had to say with going on the ride; even going to the theme park was a big step for her.

“Umm, im not sure Scar…I mean…you know about how I hate going on rides!” She whined.

“But pleaseeee, there are only a few days left till I go to America! C’mon you have to!” I ended with a pout, she can’t deny the pout.

“Oh okay! But before we do anything, we have to eat! I am starving!” She groaned as she plonked the last pancake on the pancake stack which was in the middle of the table.

We both laughed and sat down and charged at the pancakes, one by one they went down and after a couple I was already full.

“I’m going to go upstairs to get changed, make sure you knock before you come in, okay?” I said as I got up from the table and walked up the stairs.

I stood in confusion while starring at my wardrobe, almost empty because I told mum to take most of it to Vinnie’s because I wasn’t going to wear them when I got to America.

I scurried through the clothes that were left and decided what to wear.

It was kind of hot outside so I decided to wear my high shorts with my purple singlet which was both casual and fun to run around in.

I went downstairs to check on Josie but I as I approached her, I saw in the corner of my eye a letter on the coffee table in the lounge room.

Just as anyone would I went to see what it was a about and this moment changed my life dramatically.
