When Saki woke up, she was in her room, in her warm bed. It’s probably too big for her alone – not that she minded that about her room- but her Papa insisted that this house should be decorated in his taste. The half-cyborg didn’t mind at all, as long as she had a place to stay with her happy family. She let her left feet dangle for a few seconds before stepping out of the bed. Her mind repeatedly said her daily routine.

“Get up, go to the kitchen, greet papa.. “ The sentence slips through her lips.

In her half awake state, Saki rubbed her eyes as she go downstairs. The marble floor feels needle-like, sending shivers through her body, forcing the sleepiness in her to go away. A sweet scent greets her as she reaches the end of the spiral staircase. Passing the dining room, she immediately sees a tall muscular man with medium navy blue hair which is braided. He wears his usual home attire, which consists of a black turtleneck sweater and a grey jogging pants with white stripes on the sides. It’s a weird combination, but it’s his day off, no one can judge him.

  “Good morning, papa.”

“Good morning, Saki. Breakfast is almost ready,” Said Admiral without moving his attention from the pancake.

The girl takes her boring grey mug and placed it onto the counter. She pours the water from the jug, and setting it down when the water touches the brim of her mug. Saki greedily gulps what her mug contains until its empty, quenching her thirst fully.

“You should go greet Dad in the living room. And can you please bring his coffee too?”
The fully awaken girl makes her way to the room near the kitchen, with a warm mug of black coffee in her hands. Soon laughter fills the quiet house -even though its only from one person, ushering the tense air to the exit. But Admiral is still anxious.

‘Everything will be fine. She’ll be much more safe. She’ll be happy.’, Admiral said repeatedly in his mind.

And that heart breaking vision will always be there. He doesn’t know, is it an illusion because he’s sleep deprived or he really saw it numerous times before. Saki still has her human side. She may not aware of it, but as a parent he knows. The special glint in her eyes, that’s the only human side of Saki. Artificial skin, organs, and limbs can make any human made intelligence look like a breathing creature. Admiral’s soon blooming flower is different. She’s a human being, she has her rights, she can choose what ever she wants, and it makes him ponder again about how cruel he is with toying his daughter’s life. But is she ready; to face society, to accept that she’s a little different, to fully embrace the feelings that she maybe felt deep inside? How can he take it easy if it’s about his precious Saki?

He finally flip the last pancake and put it with the other pile. His voice cracks a bit when he called his family to have breakfast. He should be pleased, that his husband is finally here, willing to help him instead of running away like the previous years of their marriage. He should show a glad expression rather than his usual solemn face, because at any minute Principal Nezu will come through their main door and Saki’s future will be bright. He should be jubilant about this, but when he sees his flower’s emotionless face, he can’t help but feel chocked with sadness.
