Isn’t it frustrating that life is unfair? Won’t you be mad if you ever thought about anyone who’s better than you without even trying? Won’t you feel jealous if your twin is better than you? That’s what Saki felt about her clone. Sure, it’s just an android, it’s not a real human, but was she a real one from the start? People have screamed ‘no’ for a reason. A robot doesn’t have any feelings, they’re heartless. While here she is, in the narrow room all by herself, asking, is she a human or not just by having a heart without using it.

With what does being human be seen? Their theories? Their beliefs? Their common sense? Is everything that’s a little different means bad? No matter how much she asked the air, only the solid silence will answer her.

After embracing reality, another problem came into her life. It stirred her, punched her in the heart, pushing her into endless rage that doesn’t seem logical to her because she doesn’t have any reason to do it, but yet she did it anyway. It frustrates her into a level that she never touched before, just like how now she drowned deeper from before; its darker and the cold is brutal. She’s in the bottom of life, and no one can help her to get up.

Bored with the constant back ache for sitting too long urged the half cyborg girl to stand up. She decided to go to the little balcony, and water the plants carelessly. Two days have past, and she can see the difference between each roses; the black one smiled jubilantly at her, while the others slowly withered.

Maybe now she knows what Shinichi means. The roses represents her heart. Just like the colour, it’s the same like what she see from the bottom of the sea. Not only the plants, her action also shows her emotion. It’s so simple, then why did Saki took a long time to understand?

“So what does this called? Sadness?”, she asked to the black rose.

She know she didn’t even scratch the top, but it’s still the first step for her to understanding more.

“Would you like to help me then, Ai?”

The little girl beside her smiled, nodding happily and took her hand. It’s a new start for both of them.

Mei solemnly look at her friend. The information that she got from the past two days, and also last night which kept her awake with so many theories in her head, she’ll use it now. Yes, it’s not only Izuku and Shouta who have an eye upon her partner, but also herself. Because they only spend time together in the class, she needs to think more ahead than just observe. So she made a small drone that followed Saki wherever she was.

She got every fact lined up, she’s ready, then why does her heart can’t be still? Is it about the truth that she’ll get in her hands after this? Is she scared of something that she wants? Scared seems to be unsuitable for an inventor like Mei. But here she is, debating should she touch that shoulder or not with her pale trembling hand.

“It’s been a solid minute you’re standing there while glaring at me. Is there something wrong?”, the silver haired girl turned around and face her with an amused smirk.

The golden-cross eyed girl swallowed dryly. “I-I have something to ask you, Saki-chan.”

  “Shoot me.”

“I’ve noticed that you’re being.. Different lately. When I first met you in the classroom when you’re exploring the school, you looked shy and timid. I know I shouldn’t sneak up to you like that, you must be really surprised and uncomfortable at that time.”

“I probably am.”, Saki still wear her smirk.

“The day after that, you’ve become.. More cheerful. Not that I’m complaining, it’s nice to see you like that. But isn’t it too sudden? After being shy, and then immediately change into joyful only with one night. Even if you did try to change, then I would be able to see your efforts to be like what you want at that time; but I didn’t see any of that. It just looked like you’re acting like yourself, you act naturally. Then who’s the girl I met at first?”

The pink salmon girl searched for any intention to answer in the other girl’s dark blood orbs, but she found nothing; she found it oddly empty. So she continues to represent everything that she knew.

“And now, you changed again. From cheerful and smart, into an... Arrogant being.”, Mei carefully said.

“How can’t I be arrogant with so much attention that I get?”, the girl smirk grew wider.

“.. Are you talking about last night?”

“Oh?”, Saki’s light grey lips made an O shape. “So you’re also stalking me, Miss Stalker?”

The sun-kissed girl looked down in shame. “Yes, I did. I’ve been watching you for the last two days with a drone that I made.”

“Glad that you admit it, or I’ll have to deal with you more than this if you keep playing innocent.”, Saki said in a playful tone.

The girl in front of her may be joking – judging by the tone and her expression- but what if its act a hidden threat? It was ambiguous, and sent shivers to her spine.

“Now, about your questions..”, the silver haired girl hummed.

Saki took a welding mask near her and covered her face from Mei’s eyes with it. “Did you know that each humans have numerous different mask in their life?”

  The asked girl nodded hesitantly.

“Or if they have multiple personality? Why did it happen? What do you think, Miss Stalker?”, a dark blood eye peek from the side.

Of course Mei knows the answer, she learned it from the hard way. Being an eccentric person from such a young age made her different with the others. Leading her into bullies and discrimination that haunts her everyday until she decided to not putting her attention there, but more to her babies. Mask is just a lie to her, and she never made an agreement with the devil about it.

“... To fit in the society. They think its better than being a weirdo of your own self.”

“Seems like you’ve encountered the bitterness yourself.”, Saki lets a giggle slip. “And yes, your answer is correct; there’s no wrong answer because everyone has their own perspective. But there’s one thing similar in every answer; to survive.”

A dangerous glint in the dark blood orbs made Mei take one step back.

“It’s in human’s nature to be bad more than good; to made an agreement with the devil without thinking twice to have anything in their greedy hands.”, the silver haired girl took a step forward.

“It’s in our blood, it has deep root in our soul. Even if you deny this, then what about your friendly mask when you’re keeping an eye on me, when you’re suspicious with my strange behaviour? Aren’t you wearing a mask at that time?”

When they first met, its Mei who cornered her, now the tables have turned. Saki has changed into someone that the pink salmon girl didn’t know; even though she never had the chance to know her better because of her suspicion.

“Then what do you think about what happened to me? Is it just some mere mask, or do I have a split personality? Or maybe, this body was actually controlled by a different person?”, Saki smiled sweetly.

The bell sound breaks the strangling suspension. Mei thought her heart just stopped for awhile because of that ringing sound.

“I’ll just leave that to your imagination.”, the silver haired girl left to attend her next class.
