Caelum bit his cheeks inside as he stared at his leader’s robotic clone. Something is bothering him; is it the android’s hollow synthetic eyes or from the nagging deja vu feeling, he don’t know. Everything seems to mixed up, messed up in the point that it made him trembling without any clear reason. It triggers something inside him; a box, rattling its chains and locks, he’s afraid that if he taps on it, it’ll burst along with him. So he bear with it, while seeing Kyou do the last check before activation of Saki’s replacement.

“Hmm.. All seems fine and ready to go. She can even attend the class today!”, the raven haired boy faked his happiness a bit.

It’ll be a lie if the older male didn’t feel any heavy weight in his heart. His hallucinations seems to get more real after recreate something that his father made before; whispers about how he’s in the right path to be just like the great professor that will overburden him little by little. His demon can’t leave him alone, and gets aggressive with childish actions that push Kyou to the edge of the life boat.

As Caelum keeps paying attention to the his roommate activity, something snapped inside of him; making him froze for a second, and then leave him trembling in his seat. A vision, not even a second, maybe even a half or a quarter of it; no matter how long it was, and how much the snow haired boy can see, it’s horrifying.

“K-Kyou, where is your demon now..”

The called male, who was still looking over the statistics from his tablet, and answer, “Oh, him? The little guy is clutching at my pants now, on the right side.”

The younger male bit his bottom lip harshly that he knew he just drew blood, but if he didn’t do that, he’ll scream because of that short enlightenment. He knows damn well about the golden eyed male’s demon -Kyou sometimes can’t stop telling him about how it resembles his younger self, and he hope what he just saw is some kind of hallucination for being sleep deprived.

“Why do you ask?”, the raven haired boy finally move his attention to the person on the couch.

“I-I just had a vision.. Only a blink, or even shorter t-than that. I-... I don’t know, Kyou..”

Caelum is a stuttering mess, and his helper decided to assist him, leaving the creation behind.

“Could it be your memory?”, he asked carefully.

The asked boy only clutch on the side of his head, gripping his ears lightly. “I don’t know.. That android triggers it.”

Kyou pulls the small male to his chest, wrapping him with his arms while looking worriedly at Saki’s robotic clone. If he recalls, then Caelum did feel uncomfortable and opposed the idea from the start. As someone who takes care of him, Kyou didn’t put his family at first; it made him feel horrible.

“H-Hey, it’s okay. She’ll be gone soon enough, and our life will be just the same.”

“No, it won’t.. You’ll get busy with that thing..”

Caelum didn’t buy his words, making the older male let out a sigh. How can he tried to lie to him, to someone who he wants to protect? What gotten into him that made him do bad things like this? How can he keep them -Caelum and Saki- stays on the boat? He’s a greedy man, even with a good will of his, it can’t be sugar-coated that he just committed one of the seven sins.

“Can you tell me.. What do you see?”

Caelum takes a deep breath. “I see your demon, clutching on someone with white jacket lab that I don’t know.”

Two males on that morning, both of them hold each other tightly under the same roof. Both are scared with the same reason, something that haunted them for so long; memories from the unknown, or rather from somewhere they don’t want to remember.

~****~

It’s still morning, but not too early, and the family just woke up; except Saki who stayed up all night, contemplating her plans more ahead with some back up just in case. The family that consists of three people gather at the dining room, each holds their own mug of coffee or tea, enjoying the silence and the sunlight that pass the window glass. More importantly, they enjoy being together for so long being separated. And in no time, it’s the little flower’s turn to go.

Every second counts for Admiral. He grew fond of her from the past few years, and it’ll be weird if Saki is not around. No one will sit in silence when he’s working with paperwork in his office, no one will hear his rant about his childish husband, and he’ll need to stop his habit of making sweet breakfast for his daughter. But the most important thing is, he can’t protect her anymore. She’s in the right hands, high security will protect her, and she’ll be able to do something that she likes without any danger; she’ll be happy, and that’s what he wants. The blue navy haired male actually can’t stand when Saki is off for a mission; if looks could kill, then the army’s general who put his little flower in the suicide group was already dead by now. After so many times he convinced himself that he should talk to Saki about it, he found her already comfortable with her little group. But still, Admiral can’t shake his worry away.

A frown adored the turquoise eyed male, and a long sigh adds the fact that a heavy weight is on Admiral’s shoulders. Of course this doesn’t go unnoticed by the other two in the room. Both of them share the same look, who should comfort the sad male without spilling any bread crumbs? This is a perfect job for the master of masks and trickery.

“Honey, is there something wrong?”, he asked sweetly.

A wrong choice of words indeed; it shows from the navy blue male’s sudden glare to his husband. Has the title of Charming Prince already rusty?

“Oh, so you think there’s nothing wrong? My flower, our little flower will go fly out from her nest soon! For so many years we’ve stay as a family, gets comfortable and used with each other presence, but now everything has to change soon. How can I... How can’t I be sad about it?”

Ah, Admiral’s breakdown sure is cute in his hazel eyes. Shinichi can devour him, and probably forget what’s been bothering both of them the time they wake up in the next morning. But that doesn’t mean that method always worked. So he changed his tactics; throwing sympathy.

“Oh honey, I know it’ll be hard for us; not only for you, but for me too. She’s our daughter and we love her so much, but sometimes if we do love someone, then we should let her go.”, he added with a warm grip on his husband’s hand.

The turquoise’s glare starts to change back into a frown. “You think I didn’t know that? Of course she’ll be in a good place; I’m the one who suggested this. But don’t you feel lonely? Don’t you feel sad because you have lesser time with our little girl? Or you still didn’t care like how you act for years, leaving me and Saki behind with worries for your missions?”

“I clearly know that my time will be short with her. And I’m fully awake to feel the lonely feeling creep inside of me. Yes, it was my fault for putting both of you behind for years; it must be a great burden for you because you feel like a single parent. I already apologise, to you and Saki. Time can’t be changed, and if Saki already decided to leave when I just came back to her life, then I’ll let her go if that’s the best for her. You know her better than me, I admit that; all I did was take her home and threw the responsibilities to you. For so long you’ve take care of her, for so long you’ve bear the burden from my irresponsibility, I’m totally grateful for you in my life. So please be aware, not only with yourself, but also around you. Learn how to let go, just like how you let me go on a mission.”

A kiss on Admiral’s forehead ends the job perfectly and sweetly. Saki can’t help but nods in approval when her Papa went to take some tissues. This partners in crime will be a good one for sure.
