The Runner (Feitan x Reader)

Chapter 16

I panted as the memory fades away. What happened back then looks like a Deja Vu here. I look at the Greenie and felt the same way as I did back then.

Y/n, that was her name. Could she be Y/n?

"Feitan... I'm scared..." The Greenie said and I widen my eyes.

I can't let her get hurt!

"What do you want?" I ask getting straight to the point, not trying to make the same mistake as before.

This time, I already knew that the three of them are troubles. If we get past through this, I'll make sure that they don't see tomorrow again. I glance at the Greenie and thought of a plan. A plan where she can't be hurt.

"We want to beat you up." Gentru replied. "And we want the Glade to know that we are the Bombers."

"No! Don't let them Feitan!" Greenie yelled and I felt my whole body losing its strength as I watch her beg.

I don't like seeing her in that state. I don't know why but I felt like... I want to protect her just like I did back... to whatever I just remembered.

"Okay, fine. Just please... don't hurt her." I said and the Bombers were shock.

"Wait a minute, now this is new. The Keeper of the Runner is begging us! Hahaha now this is interesting." Gentru laugh. "Beat him and let's see if the Unbeatable Feitan can still survive."

Bara and Sab got out a bat and started hitting me with it.

"NO! STOP! PLEASE STOP!" Greenie yelled and tears started to fall from her eyes.

"It will be okay." I mouthed to her and she cried, trying to get away from Gentru's grip.

Reader's POV

I couldn't just watch him getting beaten, I had to do something. I just had to. Even though I only knew him for a short time, my feelings is telling me that I should have known him a long time ago.

I tried escaping Gentru but he was too strong. Blood started to drip from Feitan's head and my sight got blurred as my tears continued falling.

"STOP! PLEASE!" I pleaded, hoping that they would listen but didn't.

Shalnark, I know you're out there! Hurry and help us please!

I felt useless, seeing Feitan getting beaten up without even fighting back. I know he could easily take the three of them down but he's not fighting back. And it's all because of me.

It was like my heart was breaking into pieces, seeing him beaten up just like that when he could do something about it. My body weakens and I hated seing him like that.

I hated watching him suffer in pain. My heart was aching, my mind was blank. All I was thinking at the moment was... kill

From the corner of my eye, I saw a knife on Gentru's side. All of the sudden, everything happened in a blink of an eye that I only realize what I've done when I heard Gentru yelling in pain.

I tried processing what just happened, a knife that was on Gentru's waist was now in my hand and it was dug into Gentru's left shoulder. I took this chance to bring him down by swiping his feet.

"N-no! S-stop!" I heard Feitan yelled but I ignored him.

I saw Sab charging towards me with the bat but someone tackled him backwards. It was Shalnark.

"Get them!" I heard the voice of Kite and I turned around to see all the Runners coming.

Thank goodness...

Killua got Gentru restrained while Shalnark kept Sab down the ground. Kite then went after the other guy and I immediately ran towards Feitan while kneeling down.

"No no no no no, come Feitan you got this. Don't give up!" I cried while holding his hand.

Blood was everywhere. It was as if he was the fragile glass in the world. He cough out blood and he stared at me. Then he did something that I did not expect. He... smiled.

"I'm so glad you're not hurt... Y/n..." He manage to say before he fell unconscious.

"Feitan! Don't do this please!" I shouted and that's when Pitou went beside me.

"His wounds are major, I need your help." Pitou said and I nod.

Shalnark carried Feitan and got him to the Med-Jacks. I followed Pitou's instructed carefully until we treated all of Feitan's wound.

-----Mini time skip-----

I was now sitting beside Feitan, staring as his chest goes up and down. According to Pitou, he might not wake up for a week. I then remember what he said before.

Gentru and his allies were lock in a dungeon and apparently they were going to be punish when Feitan awakens.

"I'm so glad you're not hurt... Y/n..."

I began to wonder who Y/n was and what's his connection to her. From what I know, no one in the Glade is called Y/n.

It must be someone from his past

"Y/n, it's time for your trial on being a Cook." Killua came in and I sigh.

Since Feitan got injured, no one can give me a trial on being a Runner. But I know one person who can.

"I'm not going." I said and he gave me a confuse look.

"What do you mean you're not going?"

"I want a trial on being a Runner."

"But you can't, Feitan is-"

"I know but there's still one person who can give me a trial." I said and went outside to search for the person.

Where is he?

Soon I spotted the person whom I was looking for.

"Kite, can I talk to you?"
