The Runner (Feitan x Reader)

Chapter 14

Everyone's attention is now on us and I glance at Feitan and saw him staring at me.

"W-wha..." I was dumbfounded at what Shalnark just said and when no one spoke, he turned to me.

"I guess that means I could kiss you. And from now on, you're mine." He started leaning closer and I was frozen in my spot, not knowing what to do.

I tried calling out for help but my mouth felt like it lost it's voice.

Somebody help me!

I close my eyes and waited for the kiss since I couldn't do anything but someone grabbed my wrist and pulled me away from the seat. I opened my eyes and saw a familiar raven haired male.

"Feitan, does this mean that you object to my decision?" Shalnark ask and I glance at Feitan.

He was glaring at Shalnark as if he wants to punch him but then he started dragging me out of the room and into the forest.

We continued walking for a while before I got annoyed and yank my wrist away from him.

"W-why did you do that?" I ask him.

"Do you like him?" He answered and I was shock.

"W-what?"

"I said, do you like him?" He turned around to face me.

"N-no, I dont like him. I mean yes I do like him but only as a friend." I replied and he started walking away.

"W-wait!" I called out while running after him but he didn't stop. "Oi! I said wait!"

He suddenly stop, making me bump into his back.

"What is your problem!" I shouted in frustration and he turned around.

Feitan's POV

What is wrong with me? Why is my heart pounding like crazy?! What is this girl doing to me!

"Look, if there's a problem here it's you." I replied to her question and soon realized what I just said.

"Me? I'm the problem? You're the one who pulled me into this forest without a reason!"

"Well now you could go back, I have other important things to do." I turned around again but the Greenie made me face her.

"Look, I don't know what your problem is or the reason why you pulled me in here but... is it okay if we go back now? I'm... scared of the dark." She rub both of her shoulders and goosebumps started to show.

Suddenly, my head started spinning as images pop in my mind.

Flashback

"Oi! Where are you taking me!" A girl said.

I was holding her wrist and was dragging her to who knows where. We headed somewhere that looks like a laboratory and she yank her hand away.

"Look, I don't know what your problem is or the reason why you pulled me in here but... is it okay if we go back now? I'm... scared of the dark." She rub both of her shoulders and that's when I realized that the laboratory was really dark.

I gave her my jacket.

"T-thanks..." she said while shaking.

End of Flashback

What... just happened?

I look at Greenie and wondered why they said the same thing.

Maybe it's just a coincidence

I then sigh and removed my jacket then put it around her. I stare into her eyes for a while before turning around.

"Follow me." I commanded and started walking back to the Glade.

There was a few moment of silence before I heard her whispering.

"Feitan..." I ignored her.

"Feitan..."

"Feitan! Someone is following us!"

"FEITAN!" As soon I heard her yelling, I turned around to face her and she bump into my chest.

"Dude, will you stop doing that!" She said and I glared at her.

"What. Do. You. Want." I growl and she shrug.

"You're too quiet, I kinda hate it when it's too quiet. And also someone is following you... me! Haha." She smiled and I felt my heart skip a beat but I ignored it.

"Go talk to yourself." I turned around and started walking again.

I thought about the flashback again and wondered if the girl there is... the same girl as Greenie.

It could just be a coincidence

"Feitan..." The Greenie whispered again, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"What's it like to be a Runner?" As soon as she ask that, I widen my eyes and stop deadly on my track.

Making her bump at my back.

"Omph! Will you stop doing that!" She exclaimed and I turned around, locking my gaze into hers.

"Don't tell me you want to be a Runner." I said and she nod.

"I do want to be a Runner." She commented and I place both of my hands at the top of her soulder.

"You can't be a Runner! I won't let you!"

"What is wrong with you?" She ask and I was shock at my action as well.

I didn't even know that I place my hands near her neck and I don't know what's gotten into me.

"I... I..." It was the first time that I was lost for words.

"Look..." She trailed off and removed my hands out of her neck. "I am going to become a Runner no matter what happens."

"I won't let you, I will never let you. I am the Keeper of the Runner so-"

"I will become a Runner! I will past your trials tomorrow no matter how hard it is!" She cuts me off and I could see the determination on her eyes.

I sigh in defeat and started to walk away.

"Why do you want to become a Runner?" I questioned her.

"I... don't know but something is telling me that I'm suppose to be a Runner."

It was silent after that.

"Feitan..." She whispered but I ignored her.

"Feitan...!"

"Feitan please, someone is following us!" She continued whispering but I ignored her.

"FEITAN HELP!" This time, I heard something grabbing her and I turned around.
