Heimdall brought back Loki from Jotunheim. He saw Thor standing next to the Watcher, clearly noticing that he had been worrying for a while. Loki wondered why Heimdall didn't tell him where he was. However, he didn't dwell too much into it. He had better things to do.

Loki was about to walk out of the Bifrost, but Thor stopped him. "Where were you?" he asked.

"Why do I need to answer to you?"

"You cannot just leave Asgard without telling anyone where you are going. We need-" Thor noticed a bit of ice on Loki's boot. It couldn't have been from their battle since that was yesterday. The ice should have melted by then. Did he go to Jotunheim? And if he did, why?

"I'm not a child, Thor. I can go wherever I please. Sorry if it bothers you so much that I do what I want." He walked out of the Bifrost. He thought he left Thor there, but realized that he was being followed. "What do you want?" he asked, not stopping.

"I want to talk."

"No."

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to. Now leave me alone before I-"

"Why did you go back to Jotunheim?"

Loki stopped dead in his tracks in the middle of the Rainbow Bridge. He kept his back toward Thor so that he didn't see the fear on his face. How did Thor know he was in Jotunheim? Did Heimdall tell him? Was it just a lucky guess? He hoped and prayed that whatever Thor knew, it wouldn't interfere with his mission.

"Why did you go back to Jotunheim?" Thor asked again, this time more slowly. "Do not lie to me."

Loki turned around to look at Thor with a smile on his face. He chuckled. "Fine, I won't lie. I just won't tell you." He walked away and headed straight for the palace. He made sure that Thor didn't follow him this time, and thankfully he didn't.

Thor wondered what Loki was up to. Whenever Loki would come back from somewhere, he wouldn't go straight to the palace. Usually he'd go to the village to take a walk or cause some mischief, just to get away from all the royal business for a while. He would never go directly to the palace where all the royal drama happens.

As much as he wanted to find out what his mischievous brother was up to, he respected his space. However, that didn't stop the God of Thunder from investigating.

Loki made sure that no one was around the weapons vault. Thankfully no one was around. The guards must be on break or called out by Odin. Loki entered and completely closed the door behind him.

He walked down the long hallway toward the Casket as quickly as he can. It was strange that it was so easy to retrieve what he needed. Asgard was suppose to be a hard place to enter including the rooms of the palace. Odin was losing his touch. Maybe Thor should rule now, but, then again, who wants a king who will start a war?

As he reached the Casket, he hesitated to grab it. What if Laufey was lying to him the entire time and just made him feel sorry for them? What if they are the monsters that he had grown up to know? But then that would mean he, too, was a monster. However, the condition of the realm looked like they really needed their source of power. Loki looked at the Casket as if it would answer him.

It was the right thing to do to help them rebuild their realm, even though it might lead to terrible consequences between him and Odin. Laufey already lost his wife and 2/3 of his children. The least he could do was give him the Casket. Besides, they are his people.

As he was about to grab the Casket, the door opened. Loki quickly ran and hid behind one of the walls. He hoped that he wouldn't be seen.

"He's not acting like himself," said a voice. It was Thor. "Ever since Jotunheim..."

"I don't know what to say," said another voice. It was Fandral. "Maybe he's planning some mischief."

"No, if he was planning mischief he would still be acting like himself. We wouldn't expect a thing."

"Then speak with him."

"Speak with him? He's impossible to speak with. He's stubborn. There's no getting through to him."

"There has to be a way to get through to him. Even the most stubborn has a weak spot."

"Maybe you're right, but how?"

"He's your brother."

The word brother hit hard in Loki's heart. He realized that he was never even related to Thor. As much as he hated to admit it, he loved his brother. He wondered if Thor knew about his true heritage. If he didn't, Odin betrayed them both. To have two brothers close to each other and then have them finding out they're not related, that was cruel. He began to hate the Asgardian king.

After a long silence, Thor spoke. "He went to Jotunheim without letting anyone know. Why would he go back after being hesitant the first time?"

"Well, you know Loki. He's mysterious in many ways."

"Yes, but this one is different. I don't know what to do."

"You will. Besides, you will have to know what to do if you want to be king of Asgard."

Loki rolled his eyes.

"True." There was another moment of silence. "He's not here. Maybe he's in the library. Come on."

As soon as they were gone, Loki grabbed the Casket from its resting place and ran out of the palace. He was surprised that no one had seen him yet.

He ran to a portal to Jotunheim that he had discovered and let the Frost Giants go through to ruin Thor's big day. He wondered if Heimdall knew or if he was actually letting him get away with it. But by the time Loki got to the portal, Heimdall probably wouldn't be able to reach the portal in time since it was quite a distance away.

However, he stopped running immediately when he reached the portal, almost dropping the Casket.
He hid the Casket behind his back as if that would do any good. He gazed at the person standing in front of the portal to Jotunheim.

"Heimdall!"
