Loki looked around at the dark and broken realm. He has seen this realm like this for so long that it was shocking to know that it had another form. He held the Casket tightly in his hands and began walking toward the temple.

He desperately hoped that the Frost Giants weren't lying to him just to get back at the Asgardians. The two were very bitter rivals. Although he hated the Asgardians now, Odin was right about one thing. He could be the one who brings peace to the two realms by bringing them together through more than just a treaty. So ironic that the God of Mischief--the one who likes to see chaos wherever he walked--would be the one to bring peace. That seemed to be more of a job for Thor.

He got to the temple and finally realized how broken it was. The great war really did a number on the ice building.

Laufey was sitting on his throne. It looked like he was planning for the attack on Asgard, or a plan to rebuild some of the homes. Loki couldn't really tell from where he was.

He spotted the small Frost Giant with something behind his back. He didn't dwell too much into it. "Welcome back, my son."

He winced a little at the word son. It still seemed unbelievable to him. "Hello...father. I have something for you. Can we talk alone."

Laufey turned to his servants. "Leave us." Then he turned back to his son. "Come."

Loki walked slowly toward the throne. He was hesitant at what he was about to do. Doubts still filled his mind. However, he still strongly felt that this was the right thing to do. They are his people, and if Odin wasn't going to help them, he will.

"What is it that you have for me?"

He remained silent, but brought the Casket out in front of him. Laufey looked at it with wide eyes. For centuries he hasn't seen their source of power. Never did he think that he would see it again.

He looked at Loki. "How?"

"Your...our people need it. We grow weaker and poorer every day. We need this Casket. I stole it from Asgard." He handed the Casket to Laufey.

The Jotun king didn't know what to say. They have been trying to get this Casket for a long time. They have tried stealing it many times, then his son successfully steals it the first time. He was impressed. He was grateful and touched that his son cared so much, especially since he just discovered he was a Frost Giant not too long ago.

He gently took the Casket from Loki. Then he put a hand on Loki's shoulder. "You do not know the good you have done for our people, for our realm. We can see it finally restored."

Loki looked into his eyes for any lies or mischief, but there was none. He knew what lying looked like. Everything that Laufey was saying was genuine. His people really did need the Casket, and not for revenge, but to survive. Loki felt good about what he did, even if it was against Odin's wishes.

Laufey smiled down at his son. "Come with me." The two walked into the temple.

The deeper into the temple they went, the darker it got. It, too, was broken. It seemed like everything was broken since the great war, almost impossible to fix. Only the Casket could fix all that is broken. If they themselves tried--and he's pretty sure they did--it would take generations.

They got to an empty pedestal. Loki could tell that it has been soulless for years. For a cold realm, there was a lot of dust on it. He couldn't believe that the Casket was going back on there. He couldn't wait to see the realm he was born in.

Laufey handed the Casket to Loki. "I want you to restore Jotunheim."

"Father, I just got here."

"But this is your home."

Loki smiled up at his father. He took the Casket from Laufey. He slowly put it on the pedestal as if it might attack him if he did it wrong. When the Casket landed on the pedestal, Loki backed away.

The Casket glowed a blinding blue. It lit the entire room temple that Loki had to cover his eyes. Laufey, however, was immune to the light. He looked at it with awe. Then when the light died down thick ice surrounded the pedestal and began to spread quickly around the temple and outside.

Loki ran to a window to see the ice restore the realm. The other Frost Giants came out of their homes to see the wonderful sight. The entire realm glowed. The cracked ice came back together. Jotunheim was getting restored.

Laufey came next to Loki. "We have our power back."

Loki's smile faded a little. He remembered what he saw when he entered the realm. It was most likely a plan to fight Asgard. "Yes, we do. Will you be fighting Odin?"

"It has gone too far to stop now."

Loki felt a pang of guilt. He started the entire thing. "It's never too far to stop now. There's always a way out, Father. Now that Jotunheim is restored... ."

"Maybe."

Loki and Laufey stayed staring at the window, watching the realm finish restoring. For once, Loki felt at peace. Maybe everything will work out after all. Maybe there doesn't need to be a war.

A light with many colors came from the sky, or better yet, Asgard. Loki's heart leaped and pumped a thousand beats per minute when the beam stopped. Laufey noticed it too.

"Oh no", he said under his breath.

"Loki!" yelled the Asgardian. "Come here now! We must speak."

"Thor...".
