I saw Them.
One was biting a girl in the neck.
Flesh ripped, as the Zombie, (another girl of 8), fed on her to get to her her brain. And ate it. Such horror seeped into my brain, as I wondered how this horror occurred.
You see, the how was missing from the terror I felt.
The Zombie girl was hungry.
And her victim was dead.
Soon she would be a Riser, (as I termed Them), which was a better word for the Mania-affected victims of The Zombies.
Such things were new to me.
"Hello Gretel. Want to play" the Zombie-girl said. giggling.
"Piss off!" I yelled.
I couldn't let the bitch bite me.
I needed a weapon.
So I saw a hardware store nearby.
Broken windows meant that noone was around.
I went through the front door...which was also broken.
I grabbed a rifle.
And, as the Riser came for me, I placed six bullets in it,
And I shot the Riser in the brain.
It came after me, it's hands moving towards me.
And I shot it twice more in the brain, then it died.
The new Riser got up.
And I shot her three times in the brain too.
And I smiled.
Then I stole more bullets from the store.
And then I headed back on the road again.
