I sense some upcoming character development...

Pidge's P.O.V

Akira, Leandro and I have developed blueprints for the 'Teleduv'. Or really, I made them, Akira contributed a bit, and Leandro... he just kind of side eyed me like a warning. Still, progress is progress.

It's 11pm and I can't say I feel tired. A bit dormant, sure. But tired? No. I am getting out of bed for a late-night snack when I see light seep through the bottom of the door. Odd.

Being the curious person, I am, I decide to take a peek at what was gong on. I shuffle quietly out of the room and into the hallway. I stop when I hear voices from the conference room.

"I want her gone." The voice is obnoxious and kind of loud for a conversation at nearly midnight. It's definitely Leandro. That kid doesn't know how to whisper.

"You know we need her for the Teleduv." This time it's Akira that speaks up. I peak my head in through the doorway and I see the two conversing.

I see Leandro sigh in defeat. "I know, I know. Doesn't mean I want her to stick around though." He puffs and stands up to leave. Shit. I duck away but there's nowhere to hide. I make a last-minute dash to my room just in time before Leandro sees me.

I lean back on the door and sigh in relief, but the door suddenly swings open and I crash onto my bum. "Hey!" I shout. Leandro is standing above me.

"Why were you spying on us?" He demands, Akira appearing shortly after.

I scoffed. "What is this? An interrogation?"

"Just answer the damn question, Pidge." Akira sighs, noticing Leandro losing his patience quickly.

"Because," I say, standing up. "besides, you guys were talking about me behind my back!" I saw Akira look avert his eyes guiltily. Leandro just glared.

"You're in my personal space!"

"There's enough room to house an army! You've had it out for me since before I even got here!"

"Because you're in my way!"

"Of what?!" Leandro didn't reply.

Akira frowned. "I'll leave you two to sort things out on your own." And with that, Akira left Leandro and me alone.

We just stood there awkwardly for what felt like forever. "So, uh... want to come in?" I ask. Leandro walks in warily but compliant. He sits himself down on my bed, without asking I may add. "Listen, I know yo don't want me arou-"

"You're in the way." Leandro, quite rudely, cuts me off. But then I process what he said. I'm in the way? Of what, his ego? "I can't make any advances with you here."

I'm confused. "Advances with what?" I ask. Leandro pouts and turns his head away before mumbling something. "Pardon? I can't here you." Leandro mumbles again. "Jesus just say it out loud!" I groan in annoyance.

"I- I like Akira, okay." He whispers. Leandro and Akira? Now that I think about it I can actually picture it happening. A little bit unexpected but putting two and two together its actually a great pairing. They're complete opposites, filling in each other's gaps. I start to really get invested in this.

Thoughts flooded my head like 'Does Akira like him back?', or 'What's the ship name?' 'Who'd top? Probably Leandro but you never know'. I wander over to the now blushing boy and sit next to him. "Consider me your wing man." Leandro turns his head to face mine in surprise. "Or wing woman. Whatever you want to call it."

Leandro snorts shortly. "So you'll help me win him over."

"Sweep him off his feet!" I do some hand movements for effect, which is kind of silly looking. Leandro laughs again. I reach my hand out to him. "Friends?"

He grabs my hand and shakes it. "Friends."

We begin a bit of small talk which ends up in an hours worth of chatting, mostly gossiping though. "I suppose it's time for me to go. I may be part robot but I still need sleep to function." I nod as he gets off the bed. I watch him head to the door before he stops.

"See you, Leandro." I say. He stops and turns to me.

"Just Leon's cool." He says before leaving, closing the door behind him. I smile a large smile. I'd actually made friends with the loud, slightly obnoxious, boy who I thought hated me. I curl up in my blankets and start dreaming up ways to hook Leon up with Akira.

*

"Leon, stop that!"
"I'm an adult! I can do what I want!"
"That isn't an excuse to play with your food!"
"I'm not playing with it!"

Leon and Akira are bickering again. I'm trying to eat my breakfast peacefully but it's proven impossible with these two. Ever since Leon and I were on good terms they started arguing over the smallest things. 'God they act like a married couple' I think.

Finally I had enough with them. I grab my glass of water and slam it harshly on the table. The boys stop and turn to me. "Do you two ever stop?!" I demand. They look at each other before looking at me. "I expect this behaviour from Leon, but not you, Akira."

What surprises me is how Akira smiles at me. "You two made up?" Leon hesitantly nods.

"How'd you figure it out?" I ask.

"I'm the only one who calls him Leon." I see Leon blush at that comment. I internally smirk. Now if that comment was mixed with a bit of jealousy-

The room's lighting is tinted with flashing red. "What the?" Leon rushes out of the dining room and into the hallway. Akira and I follow suit. "What's with the lights?" I ask.

"It's an intercom." Akira says. We turn into a room filled to the brim with cameras.

Leon sits down in one of the two chairs and taps on one of the screens. It enlarges and I see a girl with long blonde hair in two pigtails and purple-blue eyes. Leon pulls a microphone to his mouth. "State your business." It doesn't sound like him, way to deep and robotic. The microphone changed his voice.

"I am here to assist you." She has an British accent, but a familiar. I can't pinpoint where though.

"In what?" I question. Lucky the voices are distorted or she might notice the difference in voice.

"Anything. I am at your service." This is way too suspicious. I look at the others, and we silently agree that there's something off.

Leon turns off the microphone so we can discuss our options. "Proceed with caution?" He ask. Akira nods. Leon then looks to me, to which I nod in return.

"Proceed with caution..."
