After 20 long hours in the car (with a pit stop in Denver for sleeping in between), Sam and Dean finally make it to Los Angeles. While in the car, the boys research all they could about the case. They find out where the girl lives, her family, and the field of where the crop circle is located.
The brothers' first step is investigating the place where she was kidnapped, the field, and find any clues that might lead them to who kidnapped the girl and where they took her.
The Impala pulls off to the side of the road, next to the scene of the crime. From the ground, it seemed like an ordinary field. Several trees and bushes compliment the scenery along with a mixture of dead and dark green grass decorating the ground. But from aerial view, it's a whole other sight.
Sam and Dean walk up to the field which is blocked off by yellow "No Trespassing" tape. The brothers were in their FBI suits, wanting to investigate the scene without causing too much trouble with the other police that were there.
Sam holds the tape up and the two walk underneath to get to the other side. They flash a few officers looking at them their fake FBI badges and continue to the beginning of the crop circle.
"Hey," I female voice says from behind the two brothers. They turn around and there stands the sheriff in all of her uniform and gear. "You boys in need of something?"
"Uh yes," Sam says. They both get their fake FBI badges out and flash them simultaneously at the sheriff. "I'm Agent Queen and this is my partner, Agent Allen. We're here to investigative the disappearance of Katelyn Dawson."
"Well, I'm Sheriff Williams and this is where it's suspected she got abducted." Williams frowns, looking down and around at the field. She didn't necessarily know the kid, but the whole idea of a child getting kidnapped makes her upset. However, she can't let those emotions get to her head or else it'll make the whole investigation a lot harder. On herself and in general.
"Do you mind if we ask you some questions?" Dean asks. Sam gets out his little notebook and pen to write down her responses.
"Sure," Sheriff Williams crosses her arms and situates into a comfortable standing position. "Shoot."
"So, when exactly did the crop circle show up?" Dean crosses his own arms, waiting for the sheriff's answers.
"Search parties found it while trying to search for her, so it's not clear exactly when it showed up. No one really does anything with this field; it's been unkept for several years." Williams shakes her head after spewing her information.
Sam writes down all of her response into the notebook. He nods to Dean to continue asking questions.
"Is there any reason why Katelyn might've been kidnapped?"
"I'm not sure," She shrugs, "I don't know anything about the poor kid, but her family might have an idea. Have you tried talking to them?"
"No, not yet." Sam answers. "We planned on going there next."
"Well her family lives in that house over there," The sheriff points off in the distance at the old gray house shielded by the trees. "They should have the answers you're in need of."
"Thank you, Sheriff," Sam nods as he puts his notebook and pen away. "That should be enough questions."
"No problem," Sheriff Williams tips her hat. "I hope we get to the bottom of this case and find her."
"We do too," Dean nods his head. "Thank you for your time."
Sheriff Williams replies with a silent smile. She turns away from the two fake FBI agents and walks towards the other group of cops.
