Chapter 1

The bright morning sun lit the Aihara room. Yuzu groaned a bit and woke up. She looked up at the ceiling and looked beside her. Her eyes widen not seeing Mei and sat up
Oh no! I'm going to be late again! Shit! Why didn't Mei wake me up!?
Yuzu got out of bed and hurried to the bathroom trying to get herself ready. She groaned knowing she had no time to put her make up on. She walked out of her room and took the bento that her mother left her. She ended up dropping a note on the ground but didn't cared since she was going to be late...again. Yuzu ran down the streets heading to the Academy. She gasped hearing the bell and ran down the hallways
No no no no! Shit! I'm late!
"I-I'm sorry!" Yuzu exclaimed as she entered the classroom. All the girls turned around looking at her and started laughing at her. Mei just didn't bother to look at her and kept looking forward. Yuzu just sighed and walked inside heading to her desk
"Yuzuko Aihara. I thought we talked about this before. Don't be late to my class ever again" The professor said
"I-I'm sorry sir" Yuzu said as she sat down and looked down
"You won't change at all. You will be cleaning the bathrooms after school" The professor said
"Yes sir" Yuzu said
"And I hope next time you won't be late to my class again and interrupt me during class" The professor said sternly and slightly harshly
"Yes sir. I'm sorry sir. It won't happen again" Yuzu said
"Pfft...like that will ever happen. Anyways as I was saying being Aihara-san decided to interrupt me" The professor said and started the lesson. Yuzu looked down at her notes and work on the worksheets
"Yuzucchi what happened? I thought you weren't coming late again" Harumin said
"Yeah I know but I uh...forgot to put my alarm" Yuzu said
"Didn't the Prez wake you up?" Harumin asked
"Of course not..." Yuzu said as she looked pissed. Harumin noticed her expression and looked over at the President
What the hell is her problem?
"Yuzucchi you okay?" Harumin asked
"No...heh of course I'm not. I just don't get why Mei wouldn't wake me up. Ugh...I bet is because of...Sara" Yuzu said as she looked down and started doodling on her paper
"Oh...you mean the girl in the field trip?" Harumin asked
"Yeah..." Yuzu said and clenched her fists tightly as she felt her heart start to ache. Harumin just played with her hair and looked at the President who was surrounded by her crazy admirers. Mei looked back at Harumin with cold eyes which made Harumin shiver
This bitch is seriously getting on my nerves. Poor Yuzu...
"Don't worry Yuzu. I'll help you out" Harumin said
"No Harumin. This is my trouble. I don't want to drag you into this mess with me" Yuzu said
"Oh nonsense Yuzucchi. What are friends for" Harumin said and smiled
"Hehe thanks Harumin. You're the best but I'm sorry for dragging you into my mess" Yuzu said
"Oh relax Yuzu. It's fine" Harumin said as she still smiled brightly. After class everyone in the class headed to gym to play a basketball game. Yuzu sat put in the bleachers since she didn't feel like playing and because no one wanted her in her team. She groaned as she looked down. Many things happened after returning from their trip and she wished everything was a dream. Her relationship with Mei ended up being distant. Sara confessed her feelings towards Mei and Mei ended up accepting her feelings. Yuzu couldn't do anything but pretend to be happy for Mei and Mei? Well...Mei just ignored her true feelings since she knew it wouldn't really work out for both of them. They were both stepsisters anyways and that was it. Nothing else but sisters
"Wohoo! Go Aihara-san!"
"The President is so amazing!"
"She's so awesome!"
Mei's admirers smiled at her and cheered for her. Mei just kept her normal calm expression on her face and looked over at Yuzu. Yuzu noticed her and looked away
Don't look at me...please..
"Hey Yuzucchi" Harumin said and handed her a bottle of water
"Thanks Harumin" Yuzu said and held the bottle of water. She took a small sip and sighed deeply
I just wish...I was with Mei...heh...guess it'll never happen

After gym Mei went back to her office to work on her paperwork. She stopped and remembered Yuzu's expression back in the gym
What was up with her? Why did she have that look in her eyes?
Her thoughts were interrupted by Himeko who came in her office
"Sorry Madam President" Himeko said
"It's fine Himeko. Aren't you suppose to be in the cafeteria?" Mei asked as she looked at the paperwork
"W-well I just th-thought it would be nice to eat with you President" Himeko said. Mei looked at her and nodded
"Very well" Mei said. Himeko smiled and walked to Mei sitting down next to her
"I-I brought you a bento as well Meimei" Himeko said
"Thanks but my mother already prepared my lunch" Mei said
"O-oh I see. Your mother must be really nice" Himeko said as she smiled
"Yes. She is..." Mei said. Himeko looked at Mei and kept blushing. Mei looked at Himeko which made her jump
"Why do you keep staring at me like that?" Mei asked
"S-sorry Meimei!" Himeko exclaimed and looked away. Mei just went back to working on the paperwork filling it out. Himeko kept looking away and looked backed at Mei
Did something happen between Meimei and that delinquent? Aihara-san seems a bit distant from Meimei
"U-uhm Meimei...can I ask you something?" Himeko asked
"Hm? Ask me about what?" Mei asked
"Well...u-uhm...it's something about the trip we went. I...uh..." Himeko mumbled
"Hm? What is it?" Mei asked
"Did something happen with you and...A-aihara-san?" Himeko asked. Mei stayed silent for a moment and put the papers down
"No...nothing happened. Stay out of my business Himeko. It's hard for me to concentrate on my work" Mei said sternly
"I-I'm sorry Meimei" Himeko said
"You know what...get out and leave me. I need to finish this up" Mei said a bit harshly. Himeko just looked down and grabbed her bento. She stood up from her seat and walked to the door
"Sorry Meimei..." Himeko said before she left the office. She walked down the hallway and headed to the cafeteria
What is up with Mei? Something must've happened between them...I just know it. Even if Mei is trying to act calm and...I can still tell that something's up. It's all because of that stupid delinquent! She did something to Meimei!
Himeko walked inside the cafeteria and looked around trying to find Yuzu. She spotted the blonde delinquent with her brunette friend
"Aihara-san!" Himeko said calling her. Yuzu groaned a bit a lifted her head from the table
"Eh? M-momokino-san?" Yuzu asked
"There is something important that we must discuss about..." Himeko said sternly
"Not now curls. I'm not in the mood to discuss shit..." Yuzu said and laid her head back down on the table
"Ugh...stop acting like that. We have to discuss about the President's behavior" Himeko said. Yuzu lifted her head up and looked at her
"Mei's behavior?" Yuzu asked
"Yes" Himeko said
"Huh? You two want to talk about the Prez's behavior? Did something happen?" Harumin asked
"None of your business. The President seems quite busy and she seems calm but...I feel like there is something bothering her" Himeko said
"S-something bothering her?" Yuzu asked
Could it be...that Mei is...u-upset? Why though? Because of me? Sara? The trip?
"Well...I guess we could discuss this but I have detention afterschool so...do you think we should talk about this some other day?" Yuzu asked
"Hmph. I don't understand how you got here late" Himeko said
"I uh...kinda forgot to set my alarm on my phone" Yuzu said rubbing the back of her neck softly
"Why not get a real clock and set an alarm?" Himeko asked
"The Vice Prez is right. You should get an actual clock and set an alarm. Couldn't the President wake you up?" Harumin asked
"Mei wakes up really early so...hehe" Yuzu said and chuckled softly. She looked at her bento and sighed deeply
I just wish Mei...was with me right now...I need her

Meanwhile in another high school there was a girl. A girl who wasn't really popular more like a loser since she always hunged around with the outcasts. The girl was very sweet and nice to her friends. She loved to do sports and always loved her pet dogs back at home. She had a bright smile with beautiful bright eyes. She was the most prettiest girl in her school. Her beautiful long white hair with crystal blue eyes that shined like diamonds
"Shai! I'm open!" A girl shouted. Shai looked at the girl and passed the ball to her. The girl caught and made the shot making it in the basket. The buzzer rung ending the game. Both the girls and guys started cheering for Shai since she was pretty amazing at basketball. Shai smiled brightly and waved at her fans
"Wow Shai! You're awesome!" Her friend said and passed her a water bottle at her
"Thanks Hinria" Shai said as she caught the water bottle. She walked to the benches and sat down since the game was over and they were going to start a new game with a new team
"See girls? I told you we were able to win" Shai said and smiled at her group
"What a bunch of pathetic losers..." A girl said walking pass them. Shai just looked up at her snd glared at her
"Shut up you filthy bitch" Shai hissed
"Haha! Shai you really are funny. Last time I saw you was when you were a baby bitch on the ground crying like a baby" The girl said. Shai just gritted her teeth and growled
"Just leave us alone" Hinria said
"Hmph. Pathetic Shai...you may think everything has changed because you're living the rich life but you can't run away from your past..." The girl said and walked away. Shai just looked down and clenched her fists tightly
Ugh...n-not again...damnit why does this keep happening to me? I-it's getting hard to control this shit...
Shai sighed deeply and stood up
"Sh-shai?" Hinria asked
"I just need to use the bathroom. I'll be right back" Shai said as she smiled at her then walked away heading to her coach
"Ooooh~ Hinria has a crush" A girl said and giggled. Hinria blushed deeply and looked away
"Sh-shut up" Hinria said
"Oh come on now Hinria. This is your chance. Besides Shai broke up with her ex" The girl said
"I-I know but...Shai is still upset about that. You know what she did...she cheated on her with another slut" Hinria said
"Damn...I feel bad for Shai. She is so sweet and kind. She deserves someone better who can make her happy" The girl said
"Yes and hopefully...I can be the one for her" Hinria said and blushed as her heart raced
I wish Shai would notice me...the right person for her was always in front of her
"Coach may I go to the restroom?" Shai asked
"Of course" The coach said
"Thank you coach" Shai said and ran to the bathroom. She walked inside and went to the sink splashing water on her face. She sighed deeply and felt tears built up in her eyes. Shai growled looked up at the mirror seeing herself
Not again...
"Oh Shai why are you looking at me like that? Are you feeling upset?" She asked. Shai growled and grabbed her head trying to ignore the voice in her head and the hallucinations. Shai may seem like a sweet and kind girl but some people mostly her family thought she was crazy...insane...mad
"Sh-shut up...please...shut up..." Shai said and trembled. Shai always wore a mask to hide the real truth. She only smiled just to make everyone believe she was happy when she truly wasn't happy at all. She was sad, depressed, and broken. Her father died when she was just 8 and her mother ended up abandoning her going out with other men. Her only choice was to live with her grandmother who told her that she would take her in only if she was willing to accept to be the next heir to the Higashi family. Shai had no other choice but to accept the old woman's offer and become the next heir to the family. She ended up leaving her whole family behind...even her cousin Yuzu who she missed dearly. The two of them were inseparable and always did things together like sisters. Shai was on the floor holding her head with tears still rolling down her cheeks. The worst part of her life was taking pills, pills, and more pills! When she was taken in the Higashi family Shai started complaining about voices in her head and wierd dreams. Her grandmother had enough of that shit that she took her to a mental hospital where it only got worse for Shai. Shai didn't understand why but the people ended up injecting her some odd substance and giving her pills to control her hallucinations. For Shai...it was torture. Everything in her life was torture. She just wished she had someone by her side to hug and feel comfort. Shai stood up from the floor and headed to the girl's locker room. She went to her bag then pulled out some pills. She took two of them and drinked water. She sighed deeply and shook her head. She gasped feeling her phone vibrate in her bag
Huh? Who is it now?
Her eyes widen realizing...
"Diane..." Shai mumbled
