Today's the day I meet my dads new family. I am kind of scared but I'm hoping school will distract me

I get to school and go to my locker. As I open my locker a card falls out. I read it and it says 'look behind your English binder'

Confused I push my binder to the side and see a black flower petal

I examine it and when I turn it over a message is written in white chalk

'I know you don't like flowers so I got you a flower petal instead. Please be my friend again it's been 12 hours and I already miss you- Jonah' I smile and take my phone out of my pocket to text him

Cara- hey I saw that petal in my locker from you

Jonah- so will you be my friend again

Cara- sure

Jonah- YES and by the way there's no Ellianna

Cara- oh who was that girl you kissed at lunch

Jonah- I knew you were watching and I made some random girl in the hall do it for me

Cara- you're a bitch

Jonah- Sorry I had to make you jealous WAIT A MINUTE

Cara- what

Jonah- you and Jack kissed

Cara- oh would you look at that my phone is dying

Jonah- no it's not

I laugh to myself and put my phone away

"Hey girlfriend" I turn around and see Jack

"About that it's not a thing anymore"

"What why"

"There's no Ellianna so I don't need you"

"But I was having fun"

"Sorry actually we can keep going until Jonah mentions it"

"Okay yay"

"Go away molerat" Jonah says pushing Jack out of the way

"I missed you" he hugs me and I laugh

"Hey that's my girlfriend you're hugging"

"Oh about that. I have to talk to you" Jonah says pointing at me

"No you can't talk to her"

"Jack go away" I tell him

"Nope"

I roll my eyes and walk up to him

I kiss him and mentally gag

"Okay leave now"

He walks away and I walk back to Jonah

"So you two"

"Yup"

"What's that about"

"What he's cute"

"Really Jack Avery is cute sure" we look across the hall to Jack who is picking up a wrapped piece of gum and celebrating

"Fine we're fake dating"

"And I'm the bitch"

"Hey you said bad things to me"

"Okay Fine so what did I miss"

"Oh I'm meeting my dads new family. My moms away and yeah"

"Oh that's gonna be awkward"

"I know but I'm just going to be my normal self"

"Cold and unapproachable"

"But you're neither of those things" he smirks and I slap the back of his head
