Chapter Three:
Somewhere across the land, deep into the heart of the Dragon Mountains, three figures paced around a campfire. It flickered slowly and the three sister's paced and paced. Waiting. Always waiting.
The oldest of the three was Delina, the middle was Etie, and the youngest was Lailia. And they were the daughters of the deceased Nicolas Denth. Most people said that the Whispers, his own creation, were the ones that killed him. But no, that was not true. The truth was that it was not the Whispers that killed their father, it was in fact a man called Barlow Estel. He had discovered a passage way into Nicolas's house, and snuck in at the dead of night. Barlow found Nicolas in his study, working on how to keep his creations at bay.
Nicolas was no weak man. When Barlow came in and attacked, Nicolas drew a sword of their own and they had a such a battle! But in the end it was Barlow who won, sending his sword through Nicolas's chest.
When he reported back to the King of what he had done (for it was the King he worked for) he asked His Majesty not to let anyone know that it was he who killed the evil man. He had a son and wife, and did not want others to try and take revenge on him. The King promised that he would not tell a soul.
Little did they know that already three souls new. Nicolas had known that Barlow was coming, and hid his daughters under the floor boards of his study. When he died, their father's blood dripped through the floor boards onto each of their faces.
And they wanted revenge. Revenge on the man who killed their father, and on the one who hired him.
At first they tried to control their father's creations, only to have them turn on them time after time.
Then Etie had a thought.
If they could not control them, maybe a stronger force could.
Denila searched through her father's books for weeks, but it was Lailia who found the one they wanted.
The Book of Demons.
Soon they found a chapter that read of a Demon King. A creature who could control all things dark and evil. Since the Whispers were evil things, they knew that this Demon King was exactly what they needed.
The sisters went deep into Dragon Mountain to do the ritual and, chanting all the way, the the sisters cut each other's hearts out and threw them into a fire.
An offering to the Devil.
Their dead bodies laid there for not a day before they all awoke again. Heartless, and cold.
A voice sounded out from the fire and told them that if they wanted one of his sons, they would need to gather a few things. And one by one they all collected the items the Lord of Darkness told them to.
And now they waited, as they had for these many months, for the next item.
The fire flickered, and a deep voice spoke to them. It sounded strained, as if talking was an effort. It was just above a whisper as it said. "You have...done...well. However...there is...one item...left...."
"Another?!"
Denila slapped Lailia for her outburst. She turned towards the fire. "I apologize, my Lord. What is the item you seek?"
The fire cracked and flickered hungrily. "...Angel....wings..."
The three sisters were confused.
It was Etie who spoke. "Angel wings? You mean that of a real angel?"
The fire blazed. "YES!"
Etie flinched away from it, bowing low. "Of course, my Lord. Of course."
Denila glared at her sister, and said. "Where, my Lord, can we find them?"
The fire glowed lower, a sign that he was leaving, "First you must....find...the girl. Drink...her blood....and you will See."
And then the fire went out, leaving the sisters in dark.
