I stared at the computer in front of me, my mind completely blank of any ideas for my new story.

"Come on, Ava. Your publisher is expecting a draft in a month!" I said to myself.

I began to type something once again but deleted everything in frustration as I've done for the past two hours.

I got up and went to my kitchen to pour myself yet another cup of tea. I headed back to my desk, hoping the caffeine would give me some inspiration. As I turned the corner I nearly dropped the cup in my hand when I saw three teenage boys standing in my living room.

"What. The. Hell."

"Wait, you're American?" One of the boys, a dirty blonde with dark green eyes, said, staring at me with an intrigued look on his face.

"I thought you said this place was abandoned?" A different boy with light blonde hair and bright blue eyes said as he turned to the others.

"No, he said this place was abandoned!" The last boy, a dark contrast from the others with dark hair and brown eyes, pointing at the green-eyed boy.

"I thought you told me you looked it up?" The green-eyed boy asked the brunette.

"I did but I told you to come to check it out in person to be sure!" He shot back.

I stood frozen, watching them go back and forth arguing over who's fault it was that they had just broken into my apartment. I cleared my throat, hoping to get their attention.

"Um, excuse me?" Still nothing. "Guys?" They continued arguing. "Will one of you stupid idiots explain why you're in my apartment before I call the police?" I yelled, finally getting their attention.

They all stared at me as if they had forgotten I was there and didn't say anything.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and was about to dial the emergency number when my phone was ripped out of my hand. "Hey! Are you crazy? Give that back!"

"Blake, are you trying to make the situation look worse?" The green-eyed boy said to the dark-haired boy holding my phone.

"Well, Reece," said the blue-eyed boy. "If you had just come to check to see if someone lived here in the first place instead of being Mr. Unreliable again we wouldn't be in this mess, now would we?"

"George, are we really about to have this fight again?" The dark haired boy, who I assumed was Blake, turned to glare at George.

"Hey! I'm not unreliable!" Reece defended himself.

"Don't you guys dare start fighting again until Blake gives me back my phone and someone explains why you're climbing into my apartment in the middle of the night!"
"How do you know my name?" Reece looked at me, once again shocked.

"He just said it, you idiot." Blake hit the back of Reece's head.

"Ow, what the hell mate!"

"Will you two shut it!" George yelled, hitting both of them in the back of the head.

"Ow!" They said in unison, turning to glare at George.

"We're very sorry for disturbing you." George ignored the glares of his friends as he apologized to me, taking my phone from Blake and handing it back to me. "We were under the impression that no one lived in this flat."

"Why were you trying to break in somewhere?" Knowing they were hoping no one would be in the apartment they broke into lessened some of the stress I had about strangers being in my apartment but I still wasn't entirely comfortable with them being here. Although, this didn't stop my curious self from asking questions.
