"So, what's your book about." He grinned at me. I'm assuming he expected me not to have any plan at all.
"It's a love story," I said, checking him out for what felt like the hundredth time that night. God does he look good.
"Go on," he said, taking a sip from his chocolate milkshake, his eyes staying on me the whole time.
"It's a secret." I giggled, taking a sip of my own milkshake while staring right back into his green eyes.
"You really aren't going to tell me?" He gave me a puppy dog face, something that I was seeing was his go to when he wanted something. It worked pretty well, but I didn't always fall under his spell.
"Nope, you'll have to wait and read it when it's published," I smirked, using my straw to scoop up some whipped cream into my mouth. Reece opened his mouth to argue but the waitress arrived with our food.
"Thank you." I smiled at her sweetly as she set the food down in front of us. "Can you pass the ketchup for my fries please?" I said to Reece.
"For your chips," he said as if he was correcting my grammar.
"Don't you start now."
He looked at me with the ketchup bottle in his hand and his eyebrows raised.
"Oh come on. I already had this fight with Leah, I don't want to have it with you."
"Just admit they're chips and we don't have to fight." He smirked, holding the ketchup well out of my reach.
"But to me they're fries. To everyone here they're chips. No one's right or wrong, it's just what we call them."
He looked at me, clearly not convinced. "Maybe we should consult the Australians."
"You serious right now." The look on his face told me he was. "Alright fine." I pulled my phone out of my pocket and searched up the answer.
"What does it say?" he asks, leaning forward to try and peer over the top of my phone.
"They call them fries," I lied, putting my phone face down on the table.
He narrowed his eyes at me, trying to read my face. "You're lying. I can tell because you scrunch your nose up when you lie."
"I'm not lying. That's what it said."
"You just did it again." He laughed, shaking his head at me.
"Don't shake your head at me. My nose is just itchy." I reached up and scratched it.
"Whatever you say, love." He grinned and I felt my heart jump."So can I have the ketchup now that my chips are cold." I held out my hand expectantly and he grinned wider as he handed over the bottle.

"Why are you smiling so much?" Reece asked as we walked out of the cinema.
"Am I not allowed to smile?"
"No, you are. I was just wondering what you were thinking about." He looked at me as we walked and I felt a small blush form on my face. No one had ever looked at me that way.
I ignored his question and just changed the subject. "I can't believe you ate an entire large popcorn after we had already eaten dinner."
"What can I say, I eat a lot." He shrugged as he held open the door for me.
"How are you not like three thousand pounds?" I pointed at his skinny frame. "It's not fair."
"I don't know the science behind having a fast metabolism, I just use it to my advantage while I have one. So, where to next?" He asked as we walked away from the cinema.
"I don't know. You know this city better than me. What's your favorite place?"
"We can't go there."
"Why not?" I gave him a confused look.
"Because that's for a different date." He winked at me.
"Who said we're having a second date?" I smirked at him as we walked through the streets.
"Well, I, uh." His face turned red as he stumbled to figure out what to say to me. "Would you like to go on a second date with me?"
"Hmm." I lifted my hand to my chin, scratching an imaginary beard. "I haven't quite decided. I mean this one isn't quite over yet."
"Guess I'll just have to convince you it will be worth it. And I'm going to start by buying you a drink." He grabbed my hand and started walking toward a club.
"Fine, but only one."
~~~
I was on my third drink when I lost Reece in the crowd. I assumed he had gone to the bathroom so I sat down, placing my drink down on the table next to me. I had only started to feel a buzz because the first two drinks I had were not very strong. I turned to look over my shoulder to see if I could find Reece but the room was too foggy.
"Mind if I join you?" I turned back around to see a guy already sitting down next to me.
"I'm kind of here with someone." I picked up my drink and took a sip.
"I haven't seen any other Americans tonight."
"He's not American," I said a little rudely. I didn't really want to be talking to this guy.
"Oi, then you're worse off. Us Brits can be real arseholes sometimes." He laughed, taking a sip from his own drink.
"Does that include you?" I glared at him.
"I did say "us", didn't I?" He grinned an almost sinister grin.
I didn't respond. Instead, I took a sip of my drink only to realize it was empty.
"Here, let this arsehole get you another drink."
"I'm all set, thank you. I think I might go find my friend." I tried to stand up but suddenly felt extremely dizzy, almost as if I had just had five drinks at once.
"You don't look so good." He said this almost happily, with a smile on his face.
"Did youuu putt somettthing in my drrrink?" The room was starting to spin and my words were starting to slur. My mind felt foggy and I reached my hands out forward, trying to gain my balance. I felt someone catch me as I fell forward. "Reece?" I thought. There smell washed over me. "You're not Reece."
"You're right, princess." The familiar voice of the guy I was talking t0 earlier came through my ear. I felt panic surge through me but my mind was too clouded to think straight.
