"Why didn't you just tell me about the concert?" Leah and I made our way over to the park where the boys were throwing an impromptu concert they had an announced on their Instagram earlier today.

"Because I thought you might say it would be stupid to go or some other lame excuse to try and stop destiny from happening."

"Destiny? I thought you were supposed to be the rational one? In no way does any of this involve destiny or fate or any of that crap."

"Out of all of the people on the street, you bumped into him," she pointed out.

I rolled my eyes. "Merely coincidence."

"That's rubbish. He was meant to break into your apartment. You were meant to bump into him. And now you're meant to go with him to hospital."

"You've gone mad." I mocked her accent while we round the corner. She opened her mouth to say something but the sound of music coming from close by stopped her from saying what she was going to say.

"Come on! We're late!" She grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the makeshift stage the boys were standing on. A large crowd had already formed around them so Leah and I stood off in the back.

They were playing their new song "Permission" and even though I had only heard the song once I started to sing along. Reece seemed to be scanning the crowd as he sang. Finally, his eyes landed on me and he smiled.

"We can stay up all night if we want to, dance in the dark if we want to, take off our clothes if we want to." Reece winked as he sang the last part, making the crowd erupt. He was still looking at me the whole time and deep down I knew that wink was for me. It made me blush.

"Did he just wink at you?" Leah turned to me, her mouth open wide with a mixed look of excitement and shock.

"Maybe? I don't know. Probably not." I shrugged.

"Hmm. Whatever you say." She gave me a sideways glance before returning to belting out the lyrics.

"Can we just go? It's late and I'm sure my wrist will be fine." I begged Leah to leave for what felt like the hundredth time. The show had ended half an hour ago and the boys were still busy with fans. My eyes met with Reece a couple of times and he had a pleading look on his face, asking me to stay.

"No way! If we leave now you'll never get his number again. And I'll never get Blake's number!" Her brown eyes had a look of determination in them.

I sighed and sat down on a nearby bench. "He probably forgot Leah. I haven't seen him for the last ten minutes. They must have left."

"Do you have that little faith in me, love?" I looked to my right to see Reece standing there, a smirk on his face causing dimples to form on his cheeks.

"I—uh. I'm not sure how to respond to that." I laughed awkwardly, standing up off the park bench with Reece's help. He was careful to reach for my hand that didn't have the hurt wrist.

"Well, now that your knight in shining armor is here I'm going to take off." Leah smiled at me.

"You can't leave. I don't want you going back to your apartment on your own," I said.

"Not to worry. Blake here will take her back. Besides, hospitals freak him out." Reece smiled at me again. I felt my heart jump up and down a little. God is he cute.

"I am not afraid of hospitals!" he defended himself. "I just don't like the smell."

"I don't like the smell either! It makes me feel sick," Leah agreed.

"Exactly! Someone else who gets it!" Blake smiled at her. Then he added, "I would gladly take you back to your apartment. It's the least I can do after breaking into your friend's apartment."

"And stealing her phone," I mentioned but neither one seemed to be paying attention to us anymore. They were already deep in conversation, slowly making their way towards the train station. "Where's George?"

"He had to leave early to catch the train back home."

"Oh," I said.

"Ready?" Reece asked me.

I nodded and we walked in the direction of the hospital. A few minutes into our walk I felt Reece slip his hand into mine and I couldn't help but smile.

~~~
"Ms. Richards?" A nurse called out into the lobby.
Reece and I stood up and walked over to the woman standing by the front desk. She led us down a hallway and finally opened an examination room door.
"The doctor will be with you in a few minutes." She smiled at us sweetly before leaving, closing the door behind her.
Reece sat in a chair while I jumped up on the examination bed, letting my feet dangle off the side. We sat awkwardly for what felt like forever until I wasn't able to bear the silence anymore.
"I was going to call you," I blurted out.
"What?"
"I was going to call you the next day after you broke into my apartment. I looked you guys up and realized you weren't lying and I was going to call you but I had smugged the number when I showered so I only had part of it." I looked down at my forearm even though the ink was long gone.
"Proves me right for trying to be confident by writing it on your arm." He laughed. "I thought maybe you just weren't interested."
"No!" I said a little too excitedly. "I just couldn't call you." I laughed awkwardly.
"So you would have called?" He looked at me.
I nodded and a big smile formed on his face. My heart jumped again but before I could say anything a knock came from the door.
"Come in." Reece and I said in unison, making us both laugh.
The door opened and a middle-aged woman came in. She had kind, brown eyes and a warm smile. "Hello, Ms. Richards and..." She turned to look at Reece.
"Reece Bibby. I'm her friend." He stood up and shook her hand. "I'm also the one who got her into this mess."
"I was the one who ran into you," I pointed out.
"But I didn't catch you. So it is partially my fault."
"Despite who's fault it is, there seems to be quite a bit of swelling. I think it will be our best bet to take a couple of x-rays to identify if there is a fracture, and if so, how severe it is." The doctor, whose name tag read "Julia Robinson", said, holding my wrist in her hands. She asked me a few questions about my pain levels before leading me towards the x-ray room.
Before we left I turned to Reece. "You can leave if you want."
"I'm okay. I told you I'd bring you to get you checked out and I'm not leaving until you're done. Besides, you can't go home on your own."
"You sure? It's getting pretty late." I didn't want him to leave, but I also didn't want to make him think he was obligated to stay.
"It's okay. I want to stay." He smiled at me. I nodded before following the doctor out of the room.
