"You're nervous."
I glanced at Reece to find him staring at me. He reached over and put a hand on my bouncing thigh.
"I know it's a big move, but I promise I'll be here every step of the way." He smiled softly, his eyes sincere. I laughed, causing his eyebrows to raise. "What's so funny?"
"I'm not nervous. I already flew across the world to a new country. This is a cakewalk compared to that." I grinned excitedly.
"Cakewalk?" He raised his eyebrows even more. "I hate to break it to you, but I doubt we're going to come across cake while walking."
"Could you not take everything so literal." I said, shaking my head. "A cakewalk is like something that's really easy. Like a piece of cake."
"Of course one of your American sayings would have something to do with cake." He joked, a small chuckle crossing his lips.
"Is that American fat-shaming?" I narrowed my eyes at him, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
He rolled his eyes. "About how many times a day do you make a tea joke/ Or have a laugh at my accent?"
"Fair enough." I laughed, turning away from him to look down the aisle to where Blake and Leah were sitting next to each other.
"I bet you a tenner they're dating."
I looked back at Reece who was peering over his seat. "No deal. I think they're dating too." I looked back over at them to see her leaning close to him, both of their eyes glued to his phone. They both let out a laugh before turning to look at each other then looking away quickly. I turned back around in my seat, looking over Reece to the passing countryside outside the train window.
"Her head is on his shoulder. I repeat, her head is on his shoulder." I shifted my gaze to see him now completely turned around with his knees up on the seat.
"Quit stalking them and come enjoy the view."
Reece turned his head to look at me, a smirk spread across his face. "Quit checking out my ass."
"If you're gonna put it right there I'm gonna look at it." I winked, sending him a smirk of my own.
"Will you two please get a room." George popped his head over the seat in front of us, his blue eyes sparkling as usual. "I'm about to barf all over this empty seat next to me."
"Aw Georgie, I'm sorry you don't have someone to sit with." I gave him a sad smile.
"I suppose we could go hog the bathroom for thirty minutes." Reece winked at me, having turned back around in his seat.
I leaned towards George and covered one side of my mouth before whispering, "More like twenty."
George laughed out loud and Reece gave both of us an angry look. "What did she say?"
"Nothing of importance." George stifled another laugh while I leaned forward and kissed Reece lightly on the cheek.
"I don't like it when you both team up on me." Reece stuck out his bottom lip slightly, sinking back into his seat with his arms crossed tightly.
"Would you rather I not get along with your mates?" I replied, reaching up and ruffling George's hair slightly. He smacked my hand away and tried to return it to the way it was.
"No, I guess the alternative would be worse." He lowered his arms, his lips still in a pouting position. I leaned forward and kissed him lightly before pulling away and smiling.
George let out a groan before turning back around in his seat. I laughed before I leaned my head on Reece's shoulder, closing my eyes.
"You're gonna fall asleep on me, aren't you?"
I lifted my head and yawned. "I can try to stay awake but after being up all night with my publisher and my mom I'm really tired. Plus, we still have a little over an hour and a half."
"Fine. But I'm leaning my head on top of yours." He kissed my forehead and I smiled. I returned my head to where it was and felt Reece lightly lay his head on top of mind, his hair tickling my forehead. I closed my eyes, letting the sounds of the train lull me to sleep.
