Chapter 6 - What About Me?

I'm sitting in English when the guy behind me taps on my shoulder, handing me a note.

"Landon,

Meet me in the bathroom next block?

-M"

I look back diagnoly to see Maison. I smile and nod my head. The bell rings and everyone rushes out to their next class.

I find my seat in history then ask to go to the restroom. I walk in to see Maison leaning on the counter. I pull him into a hug, kissing his neck, and he giggles.

I look to make sure no one is in any of the stalls then pull him close to kiss him. His lips are so soft and he tastes like mint.

It doesn't even feel like we're in the boy's restroom, it feels like we're just at one of our houses by ourselves. I pull away caressing his cheek.

"Hey..", he says laughing.

"Hi. I missed you", I tell him.

He responds,"We saw eachother last night."

"I know, but you had to leave early because they came back earlier than they were supposed to.", I say.

He laughs and pulls me back into a kiss. Then seperates and says,"We should get back to class. I'll see you later at my house for dinner? Madi really wants you there.", he reminds me.

I pull him back,"Are you sure only Madi really wants me there?"

"Ok, you got me. Mom really wants you there to..", he teases.

"Not quite what I was talking about..", I say pulling him closer.

"I want you there.", he smiles looking at my lips. He kisses me slowly then pulls apart. He walks away, slowly letting my hand go. He walks out as we smile at eachother.

I walk in and Mrs.Phillips tells me that Madi isn't home yet but that I can go upstairs with Mace. I jog up the steps to his door and knock.

He opens the door saying shirtless saying,"Dad I already told you...oh.."

I push him in and shut the door behind me.

"Hey", I say biting my lip. He pulls me closer kissing me.

"I got to say, this whole sneaking around thing is really hot. Especially with such a hot boyfriend.", he says

"Boyfriend?", I ask.

"I'm sorry. It's too soon, right? It was stupid.", he says then tries to change the subject,"Do you knkw what we're having for dinner?"

I stop him,"Don't change the subject. It's not stupid, I like the sound of it. I'm your boyfriend, you're my boyfriend."

I smile as I look into his beautiful bright blue eyes. We start to kiss when I can hear someone start to twist the doornob. I separate from him as Madison walks in.

"Hey, babe.", she says as she goes in for a kiss. I kiss back and I can see Miason cringe and roll his eyes behind her.

After our lips seperate she looks away at a picture on his dresser and I mouth to him that I'm sorry, but he just shrugs his shoulders.

I wanted to stop her from kissing me, I want to hug him and tell him that I really like him and want to be with him, but she's standing right there so I can't.

We go downstairs for dinner. Mrs.Phillips is sitting in Maison's old seat and it makes me frown.

He says," Mom can we switch back."

She nods and they switch back.

We fill up our plates and start to eat. He holds my hand under the table.

Mr.Phillips suddenly speaks,"This school year is almost over, you guys have two weeks left. Next year you'll be seniors, Madi and Landon will be crowned queen and king at prom.."

Mace starts to drop his hand from mine, but I give his hand a squeeze to let him now that I didn't like hearing it eathier and rub my thumb back and forth on his hand. I text him.

You ok?

He takes out his phone and stares at it for a while before replying.

Mace: No. I'm not, Landon

Me: I'm sorry. You know I'm with you and wanna be with you.

Mace: so when will you leave her?

Me: I can't just leave her, it's not that easy. I don't wanna hurt her.

Mace: What about me? Do you care that you're hurting me?

Me: of course, but..

Mace: You care more about her feelings.

Me: Mace I just need time, I'll end it eventually but I just can't do it I have to know I'm not hurting her too bad.

Me: ok?

Me: Mace..

He puts his phone away, puts his plate in the sink, and goes upstairs without a word to me.

I want him. I wanna be with him, but it's not that simple.
