A quick note before we begin this chap- you all remember Kelsea, from the original book? The girl Tommy meets at the hotel? Well, since she really didn't have much impact on the overall story, I'm going to put in one of the other girls from SAMTS.

So theDiamondcats is going to be in this chapter as a character, and she's going to come back later.

Just so you know.

I hate hotels.

Not just this one, but in general. They never have anything you actually need. There's never anything good on TV, someone always forgets something really weird, and every single time something happens to the air-conditioning.

On the bright side, the hotel I was staying at (by myself- don't know how I managed that one) was a short walk away from the White House, which was where I had to go next. I couldn't just sit around and wait for someone else to take of this. I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in DC who's fought Herobrine before.

And that little fact scares me. Back in Minecraft, I had all of my user and NPC friends beside me. But now... now I'm completely alone. I wish I had someone else who could help me... but I don't. It sucks. I feel really vulnerable right now.

And tired for that matter... I lay down on my bed and fall asleep almost immediately.

The next morning, it's cold and rainy. Stupid September. I fall out of bed (literally) and put on my clothes. I bought clothes last night that looked like what I wore in Minecraft so Herobrine would recognize me- a blue shirt, green pants, and grey Nike sneakers. I comb my hair to try and make it messy.

As soon as I was dressed, I went downstairs to the buffet area. Wow, they've got so much food here- pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon... mmm.

I grab a little of everything and then look for a place to sit. The only place I see is a table with one other girl sitting at it. She's got long blue hair and fake- at least I think they're fake- cat ears. I walk over to her. "Can I sit here?"

"Oh! Um, sure!" she says with a smile. "I was just playing Minecraft. You can sit here."

I nod, sitting down.

"You know, you look familiar from somewhere," the girl says. "I just can't think from where."

"I'm not from around here," I say. "I'm from New York."

"That's cool."

She smiles at me, then goes back to playing on her phone.

"So... you like Minecraft?" I say.

"Yeah." Her face lights up. "Do you like it?"

"Yeah, I love Minecraft! It's such a good game."

She smiles again. "Thank God someone actually likes it now. You know, since Fortnite came out, everyone's been hating on this game. Thank goodness YouTubers still play it."

I nod. "So what are you doing? You looked pretty focused when I came up to you."

She rolls her eyes, and I don't think she does it at me. "Ugh. I'm trying to spawn Herobrine, but nothing's working! I've done so much research- I've stayed up all night writing down how to do it- and it's not working out. I'm starting to lose faith that he even exists."

I glance around nervously, and then lower my voice. "I know why it's not working."

"Why?" she asks, lowering her voice as well.

"Because he's not in Minecraft right now. He's in the real world."

"He is?"

"Yeah."

The girl shakes her head. "You're joking! That's impossible." Her face turns worried. "You are joking... right...?"

I shake my head.

"Damn. That's... wow."

"And listen to me- Herobrine knows who I am. He hates me... hates me really bad. He wants to kill me, and that's why he's in the real world. He wants me dead. So..." I take a deep breath. "Can you help me to get rid of him? I feel really bad asking you, but can you?"

I expect her to say no, but she smiles. "Sure."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I've always wanted to find Herobrine, but getting to fight him IRL? So cool." She picks up her tray. "My name's Diamond by the way."

"I'm Tommy. Tommy Feynman."

She bites her lip. "Seriously, why are you so familiar to me?!"

Diamond and I leave the hotel and then we make our way to the White House. She suggests that we split up so we can find Herobrine faster. I agree, and we part ways.

It's awfully quiet today. You'd think they'd have maximum security, with everyone dying and stuff. But I don't see anyone else here. I even got in without any trouble.

It's really quiet... too quiet. I don't like this.

Suddenly, someone grabs my shoulder and pulls me against them. They put a gun up to my head, and a deep voice speaks in my ear.

"Don't. Move."
