Dear Annalise,
When I take Daisy to the park, there's this girl that's always there.
Sometimes I think it's you but when I look closer it's not.
She always has a sketch pad with her and today Daisy decided to go over there and sniff around.
I ran over and apologized and she said it was okay and that she's not doing any harm.
I asked what she was drawing and she told me she'd have to kill me if she told me.
I said okay okay I won't ask then.
I chuckled.
I haven't in a while.
I tell the mystery girl goodbye and go back to my apartment.
I get some lunch and feed Daisy some here and there.
I can't help but think about that girl.
I feel dirty doing it.
As if I'm cheating on you.
I want to be happy but I don't want to hurt you.
I know it doesn't really matter because, well, you're gone but I can't help.
I know you'd want me to be happy and to move on but I don't know.
Ever since I talked to her that day, I go back every Saturday to see her.
She's quiet but witty. I like it.
She's got a bit of sass to her too.
Kind of reminds me of someone...
You were always a little sassy and quick with your comebacks.
But she isn't you.
She is so different from you.
She has brown hair and blue eyes.
She's short and works for a fashion company and is apparently a big deal there.
She's very pretty but so were you.
That's your only similarity with her.
Beauty.
We've gone out on a few dates and she's really funny.
Her name is Leah.
It's beautiful.
Like yours.
I don't really know how to act around her though.
I'm not really sure how to act around girls at all to be honest.
It's been so long.
It's been too long.
I'm ready to move on.
I'm ready to find someone again.
I'm ready love again.
I wish you were here.
Love,
Aaron.
